Which path did you choose?

Fresh Build

How does your game bring our theme, OUT OF TIME, to life?
You can stop and rewind time, and you can create copies of yourself to help you solve each level. You’re out of time, but the time is a reusable resource.

What did you do to ensure accessibility of the game?
The game starts with a short tutorial to lead you in. Keyboard inputs support rebinding (not gamepad, unfortunately). Sound levels can be changed and muted.

Did you include the Indieformer or Patch Notes logo somewhere in your game?

No

If AI was used in your game, let us know how you used it.
I didn't use AI for anything in this project.

This is super good! I love a mind-boggling puzzle game, and this game definitely delivers. Is really hard to get your head around this, and I am just starting to understand how the mechanics even work in the very last level. I wish there were more, but I guess I am just asking too much at that point. The game felt super polished and good-looking, and it seems like there is quite some potential in making it a full-fledged release too. Well done!

Things I like:

  • Really innovative puzzle mechanics that require a lot of thinking
  • Simple level design that makes the player focus on the puzzle instead, while maintaining a good aesthetic
  • Mouse felt super cute and adorable for some reason

Suggestions:

  • I wish the game had more levels
  • The time mechanic needs a bit more introduction to let the player fully understand. For example, more levels with each level teaching the quirks of the mechanics one by one would be nice
  • Some on-screen input instructions would be nice, especially those for the time mechanic. I can't state how many times I've pressed the wrong button for pause and resume time
  • Indicator of which mouse correlates to which timeline, especially for the level with three mice

Anyway, this is probably the best game I've played so far. Well done!

Man the concept was so cool! You should totally continue working on this and turn it into a full fledged game. Maybe explain the controls a bit better, as even though I understood how they worked, it was really confusing at times

Developer

Thank you, I'm happy you liked it! The tutorial was rushed a bit at the end which isn't ideal for a puzzle game, so yeah that would need some more work

This is the best game I've played in the jam so far. The concept seems simple, but you've cleverly enhanced it with smart puzzles. I'm sure the coding was a nightmare, and the fact that you didn't use AI is incredibly impressive. Great job!

Developer

This is really nice to see, thanks so much!

Fantastic game! Well done! Couldn't figure out the bridge level but I still had a great time once I got used to the controls. Very cool mechanic, mouse model is cute as well

Developer

Thanks for playing! You need to get rid of one of the mimics in that bridge level
