Description
It's a rock and electro track, boss music.

The song would fit in with an action-oriented game or JRPG: at this point in the game, you free a captive angel from the bad guys, but find yourself having to face him, in a chaotic turn of events.

The initial inspirations are the energetic music of certain Japanese games, and also some Cardiacs albums for the rock feel with touches of the divine.

Everything has been done in Reaper.

Theme

Freedom
Picture theme

How does it fit the theme?
It was imagined as the theme of an angel you set free, but at the cost of great chaos.

It illustrates really great this JRPG boss battle vibe, totally believable, nice job ! :)

Thank you very much!

The Final Fantasy vibes are insane, it could actually have it's place on a boss fight for the MMO. I think with so little time the mixing couldn't be any better, but I hope you have time to revisit it to make it perfect, as the composition is really creative and absolutely enthralling! Also I feel the really light notes and the arppeggios at the end really sell the angel theming. Good job!

Thank you so much! Yes, I'll probably rework it at some point indeed, thanks to all the great feedback I've received on it!

Really nice work! Great sound choices, great transitions between sections really made this thing BANG!.

In the main verse part, there was a strange rhythmic delay in my right ear in the electric guitar that was a little strange, other than that, fantastic!

Developer

Thanks for your feedback; I'll look into that part!

Did you make the cover art? It's great!

A great track all around. The instrumentation choices I feel fit the "escaped angel" theme very well. I find it's lacking low end in some parts, which could give it some more oomph (which is always welcome for a boss track like this). The drums were my favorite in this one, it kept the energy high throughout the track.

Great work!

Developer

Thank you very much, and thanks for your feedback (which is very true!)

And yes, I did the cover art, thanks a lot!

This track definitely does give off a boss track vibe and it's a very fun little number to listen to! I do think that the drum kit is a bit too tinny (lacking in low end punch), but otherwise, it's a solid piece!

Thank you very much for your feedback!

Great track liked it a lot !
The mix of guitars and classic RPG instruments is really well done and implemented seamlessly, reminds me a lot of the battle themes from Bravely Default (especially Serpent Eating The Ground from the first one), so great job on that !

Thank you very much, and thank you for the recommendation; I don't know it, but I'll give it a listen!

Awesome track, really reminds me of JRPG games!

Very cool motif and melodies in general. Can definitely imagine the setting you described, by having mixed some beautiful sounding keys, representing the beauty of the angel, with the electric guitars, the chaoes unleashed after freeing him!

Great work!

Thank you a lot! Glad you liked it!

The quality here is really great, definite boss vibes and the instruments fit perfect for an angelic being. Everything is loud and present, but mixed well so that nothing's clashing. The only part that stuck out to me was the chord progression from the choir starting at 2:00, it feels the energy and tension don't really get resolved when it goes down. Personally I'd suggest ending with a Dominant or sus chord to really punch the listener with climactic tension before resolving it on the first beat. Could entirely be a me thing though, super powerful track! :)

Developer

Thank you very much for your comment, and for your feedback!! I'm not super knowledgeable about music theory, but I'll look into what you say, thanks a lot for your advice!

One of the best track I’ve heard so far. Emotionally powerful, with a great sense of tension, buildup, rhythm and catchiness. All musical elements (instruments, motives) match perfectly. An absolute favorite !

Developer

Wow, thank you so much!! Thanks for your very nice comment, I'm glad you liked the track that much!

Nice art in this one!
Wow this track rocks hard, very badass.
And you managed to mix and master clearly A LOT of sounds pretty well too which we all know is quite difficult

Developer

Thank you so much! I recently learned how to do side chain, it helped a lot to mix so many instruments!

Great rock theme for a boss battle, the level of production and the power of the song makes it feel like the final boss form from a classic Square JRPG. The electric bass/synth section at 0:50 has a great change of pace, even more in the urge to save the escaping angelm

Thank you a lot!

I know there's no rating for presentation but I have to mention you had that one on point!

The production is incredibly tight as well, the detail in the guitar work is sweeet and the piano ostinato thing kicking in gave me stank face, personally wish you'd leaned into that idea a bit more.

Awesome project overall!

Developer

Hey, thanks a lot! Glad you like the track and the visual!

Kudos on the guitar work on this; not only the compositional aspect but the mixing as well. Adds some great textures beneath the track when it isn't being used to drive the rhythm forward. Beyond that, I love the use of the piano in this; bolstered with some synths and weaving seamlessly between melodies. Super tight execution on the theme and, as others have said, the sheer amount of instruments in this is incredible. Major props for managing to make it all sit well in the mix and not feel overwhelming - and while I'm on the mix, great use of stereo space when it comes to panning harmony lines.

Great work as a whole, this made for a thoroughly enjoyable listen. Best of luck! :)

Real catchy and memorable! I liked the almost haunted choir a lot and the bells were great too!

A super unique entry which makes it stick out in my mind!

Developer

Thank you so very much!!

The bells at the start were really good at setting the atmosphere for the track, and the operatic rock vibe is really fitting for the genre. The piano trills in the background were a great touch. The rhythm guitar in the back lending some extra colour was also a really good addition to the overall vibe. The percussion is also really really good. Big kudos for that. The bass tone could be a bit more imposing I think, but its great overall. The operatic choir section was really refreshing too, and I like how they were a permanent addition lending even more flavour into the work. The harp was also good for the angelic vibe. Overall, just wow that was really good. Great work !!

Wow, thank you so much for your kind comment, and for your feedback!! Very glad to hear you liked the track! (Yours was great too, I really liked that it was sung!)

I love this! Big fan of the softer instruments over more intense ones like the piano and harp. I think you did a really good job :)

Developer(+1)

Thank you so much! I'm glad you enjoyed it, I really really liked your entry, I was impressed by the number of quality tracks you did!

This cooks! You fit the theme that you set for yourself very well, and the groove never feels static.

Developer

Thank you very much!!

Wow amazing! All the elements come together nicely. The fast moments like 0:55, or with piano and harp 2:50 (I think? super cool!) sound really great for a boss theme, with a strong musical identity throughout. Nice variation in layers, (fore-, middle-, background), and is great at exploring the rock sound - love how it closes with the iconic guitar vibrato/fx? thing at the end (made me think a drum fill or guitar solo could be cool). Definitely giving JRPG vibes!

Developer(+1)

Oh, thank you so much! I'm glad you liked it, thank you for your nice comment!

A solo would definitly be cool haha! At the moment, I'm not a good enough guitarist to compose solos, but I should look into it and learn.

(I just listened to your piece:  it was very beautiful and playful! It also would fit very well in a JRPG!)

Submitted(+1)

I love the tempo automation at the start!!! Insanely good track, nice job :)

Developer

Thank you very much! I also really enjoyed your track, very electro-punk!
