Wow this means so much to hear thank you!
I try to make a lot of fragments, and go organically, based on pieces that fit together over beginning too much with structure in mind (that's something I try to work on, so it's cool actually you heard that with the structure!). It really helps me to find music I feel really inspired by or want to write like, then just try to figure out in the DAW what kind of chord their using, etc, just something small then vary it - I try to make a bunch of fragments, then see how they fit, which can help a lot with structure. It can take a super long time before something sticks, so I try to come up with as much as I can until things start to find a way to connect with each other. I really like any note that's short, so the sample being precise, can let us keep adding notes that come through in the mix. Definitely listen to cynax/artcore for fast moving harmony changes! (I also try to listen to a lot of action music in films and games, so there's a lot of experiments and styles I try to test out)
Hope that's helpful for the question, thanks again :)!
Sorry! I totally missed the file. I relistened rereading with the story - I won't have as much to say as a total non-writer, but I love the story and the atmosphere the tracks create for the reader. I can see how the decisions and detail you put into the process must've helped that, really interesting read!
You really know what to do with ambiances wow! Everything's really well placed, natural sounding also deliberate - love the The vocal-like, effects and little chime sounds Revival Rejuvination, it starts off a hollow sound that kinda sounds like bones or something? but then opens up and the meaning of the sounds change with the flute-like thing and synth as the string/pads come in like the combination per each track works so well. The orchestral transition with timpani i think Cyclical Severance works great, i like the instruments and kind of tech-y sounds that come through, lot of detail you put in. Transcendence great way to end the track too, def feels freedom! Anyways, awesome job!
The little animals in your daw are peak haha, super nice writing throughout wow! Really catchy rhythms all around - A lively catch, Of All the Buttons to Press, The Benthic Hour. So many highlights, also Please don't catch the electronics giving adventure time. They're all so different, but feels cohesive under your style, amazing work, production!
A strong cinematic presence and clear narrative throughout! The strings are emotive, and carry us - great use of dynamics and articulation, >~1:20 Onward stands out, with really calming piano at the end - 2:00 Lunar Eclipse too, actually reminded me a bit of beth harmon scenes? like emotive piano moment, and lot of great structural moments throughout! The emotional elements are a strength, awesome work!
Wow such a beautiful ambient score! Koniologer's score is super nice wind harmony, sounds like something ancient or liminal, Well-Oiled Mileau too. Ponedia has a really nice playful touch. The schooldays + anomolous vibe definitely comes across in pallete and composition. The piano in Toy Soldiers was really interesting. Botanica might interest you if you wanted to add sound design. Great work!
Lots of personality! Carnival and Nostalgia nail the cutesy vibe, and love how reflective wonder and Last Summer Night are. I'm thinking I agree on a stronger progression or instrument to strengthen it. But this manages to be really effective at making each note count which can be really hard to do, the call and response definitely stood out to me as a big strength. Awesome job!
