Description
Orchestral soundtrack for an imaginary videogame about a little girl, who can make anything happen in her dreams.

Yume is a 4 years old girl who suddenly left her home in Japan with her father for mysterious reasons. She always had the power to make anything happen in her dreams, and this is the only way she knows to be with her mother again. But her new life in Europe and the difficulties of growing up in a different environment is changing her perfect world, and every time she has a problem in real life she must defeat it in her dreams.

"Time to sleep" is the main theme/title theme of the game. It describes the most important part of the game, the moment Yume goes to sleep and contains many instruments of the other tracks and fragments of their musical themes.

"My dream is my world" is the moment when Yume enters the world in her dream, where everything is suspended in time and she can feel the warm presence of her mother, who protects her from the scary things.

"My world is shifting" depicts the discovery of something creepy and wrong is happening in her world. Japanese references underline her cultural background, where folkloristic monsters such as yokai are very well known to children.

The whole soundtrack is breathtaking!

A very gentle and warm orchestra playing on a very melancholic athmosphere. Sweet and nice to listen to. Thanks for sharing.

Very nice soundtrack, with nice use of orchestral colours. You could be more confident with dynamic shape, especially in the more ‘epic’ moments, to help create a stronger sense of intensity. Some lovely writing overall :)

Some super nice compositions! Really beautiful and pleasant <3 I totally hear the story in it!

The only feedback I have, is that I would work on the mix a bit more, it's a bit crowded. The melody isn't really in focus when it's playing. I would be more subtle, so it isn't full volume all the time, but thats the only negative!

Really like the flutes/woodwind on this, as well as the smooth movements through subtle changes in mood in each track.

A real nice balance throughout between the innocent and child-like feelings and the underlying sense of tragedy or sorrow. Which fits the narrative you've described perfectly.

My World Is Shifting was probably my favourite, really liked the use of traditional eastern instruments!

A wonderfully lush piece, with a lot of innocence and imagination. Sounds like a lot of care went into crafting this. Great work :)

I liked the sting instrument a lot in the last track!

As promised, here I am!

I definitely agree with IndieKev on this one, this OST is criminally underrated! Each track has such wonderful orchestration and choice of instruments, amazing work! I'm excited to see what else you come up with in the future!

Overall just some really well done tracks that I think deserve much more attention, you did a great job!

That's all I have to say really, have a wonderful day :D

Thank you for your time and your words!

Really great job! Really nice orchestration in "Time to Sleep".  Super great job in My Dream My World. At 1:32 the harp run up and then everything coming is just fantastic but I do think that it kinda lacks energy for being the "climax". Great Job!

Yes I think you're right, but I hope it could still fit well enough as a videogame music! Thanks for your feedback

oh for sure no doubt.

Mindblowing and unfair to only have 16 ratings. I'm going to share your work immediately on discord!

Following you immediately on soundcloud too, beautiful arrangement, orchestration, everything is perfect!

This was very pretty! Im going to back up what Twitchy said and agree that the mix felt off in some places, but I think your compositional strengths shone through in this piece and you should be proud!

I definitely have to improve these skills, thank you for your feedback, I really appreciate it!

I totally get it! Its been one of the things i need to learn asw, and it is very hard haha

Very peaceful! I love your use of Japanese instruments, especially on My World is Shifting! Nice melody and a great track to end the submission with. I enjoyed it!

Developer

If I had more time I would have used more japanese instruments and scales, it was very fun to used just a little like that. Thanks for your words!

Great composition! The only place I think this suffers is sometimes the mix feels a bit muddy (you could clean this up with a mid side EQ just to make sure the bass/low-mids are tamed in the sides) and quality of the samples.

You mentioned on  the server if this would make for good portfolio music and I think it would! Your compositional skills are great and the music progression/layout was fun to listen to! Great work, thanks for sharing!

Developer(+1)

You are right, I usually put everything below 120 hz in the center,  but this time i thought it wasn't necessary and... lesson learned! Thanks for your feedback and your kind words!

This was a great listen front to back!

The context you gave each piece fit them well and the orchestration was done so well. My favorite track is Time To Sleep, the chord progressions you chose for that piece were so satisfying to hear. The other tracks are just as good though!

Overall, this was a very solid submission. Keep it up!

Time To Sleep - ahh a fairy tale! I immediately remembered my favorite fairy tale films of the 20th century... Thank you!

My Dream Is My World - Yep, it's true. Dreams are a wonderful world in which everything is possible. And you perfectly conveyed this freedom of dreams!

My World Is Shifting - but this composition already has notes of sadness... A good ending (I especially liked the changing choir and flute)

You have created a very fabulous soundtrack)
