Description
‘Inside My World’ by Chris Whiter
Game Genre: This game would be a platform-adventurer with a non-linear metroidvania approach to gameplay. An interconnected world of exploration that follows a journey through the character’s memories of their childhood. Aesthetically the game will use the @kawaakar._ artwork, utilising soft, pastel-like colour schemes and hand-drawn, low-frame rate animation. The game’s themes will be poignant, but there will not be a focus on combat or violence, more on puzzle-solving and thought-provoking sequences.
Music Genre Influences: Orchestral, Hybrid, Jazz
Runtime: 4’59” [Prologue & Main Theme]
Software used: Logic X
Inspirations: Utilising an unused melodic sketch, the ‘Inside My World’ theme inspired me to draw on my own musical history, from game and film projects I have worked on to my music backgrounds in both classical/orchestral writing and jazz.

Oooh this is nice I love the work here! I can hear the influences you describe for sure! Great job!
Well, what can I say that the people below didn't say...
I love your soundtrack! The work of a professional is immediately visible here, heh)
Thanks!
Hi Chris! I really liked your work. Two lovely pieces that belong to the same world.
Your work has a cinematic sound quality that I have heard very little in other submissions. If I had to choose a favorite moment it'd be at 1:24 in the Main Theme. The texture that the clarinet line adds sounds incredible. Also I wonder what processing has the low pitch instrument (sound like a cello but i'm not sure).
Wonderful!!!
One thing that stood out to me so much throughout this is the subtle way that everything is incorporated together, nothing feels sudden or out of place, everything weaves together and fades in and out so well that it allows the more powerful moments where instruments drop out/jump back in to really pack a punch with the listener and keep everything engaging. I expect no less given your resume, but the professional sound of this really stood out and made it so special to listen to! I was taken through so many different emotions across both these songs, and really enjoyed this. I do think my favourite has to be the Prologue theme, as I just got so excited when that piano came in.
The main theme really shines as a track capable of showing the many emotions of the journey, not unlike these intro trailers that used to play in old games. Very good!
Beautiful introduction track! I really loved the mood coming out of it!
The harmony in the second track was really nice and I was stunned by the variety of intentions in one piece of music.
Great job!
A variety of instruments and captivating melodies, dnd it encompasses a range of emotions. Unique and stunning.
Love your choice of instruments!! I think you captured the perfect amount of mystique and adventure for a puzzle solving game. It's so cool how many textures you can create in just a single track. Awesome stuff!!
What a beautiful entry. Thank you for showing the way to noobs like me on how stuff is done. One of my top entries!
Compliments! You can hear some jazz sounds mixed with the prevailing orchestra. For puzzle solving, I think it’s perfect. It has a distinct theme but also the delicacy to remain a pleasant and non-intrusive background. Really great work, well composed and orchestrated... perhaps the only drawback is that I would have made a few more tracks for different levels. That said, excellent job!!
I really love the hand drum it is a perfect instrument for this!
I also really liked the change in the second song about halfway through where it got more intense!
Great job!
Lovely composition, very powerful writting, lots of Ori and The Blind Forest snippets you got here. Sounds amazing too. Fantastic work
The motion and different sections in the Main Theme felt cohesive and seemless, it gives a very strong sense of narration.
It is good to have people like you coming into these jams, it's encouraging and inspiring :)
Unbelievably well produced. I wish that you would have been able to create a few more tracks in order to flesh out more of your story. But great job nevertheless!
this is fantastic! the whole thing feels super cohesive without being too repetitive, and gets across the vibe of ur game idea really well!
I was totally blown away by this music. So cheery and dreamy. Just as you could imagine the theme. Great job. And wow, your credits are quite impressive! The music is very uplifting and messes so well with the theme and ideas you came up with. Beautiful work.
That`s great music there) So easy to listen and so easy to lost in it, beautiful!
Composition is on point! Really nice work on both the focal melodies and the layers of ambience :)
There are some nice movements in these tracks. I liked the second part of the "Main Theme" and the ending was really well done. Orchestration was on point and the composition really shone through. Thanks for sharing!
Colourful, not-trivial harmonies you got there! This has the hand of a professional over it, you can really feel that. The choices for instrumentation are a perfect balance between orchestral and ethnic, and I really like the ever changing scenarios throughout the tracks, they definitely manage to tell the story in a punctual way.
Among the absolute best I heard so far!
