Oh this is really cool - the beginnings of the Title theme almost fringe a little bit on menacing (particularly the horns before the track strips itself down) but then feels whimsical and curious. This tropical-like melody and progression works really well as a title theme - I can imagine hearing this in so many games. At points it actually reminds me a little of Croc!
Deep Feelings is beautiful - it nails the water vibe. The choice of voicings in this track has it feeling almost 'blurry' at points which fits really well with the bubble motif, and I absolutely adore the lead synth patch that comes in toward the end. Having the accompaniment strip back a little here and almost drag behind is genius.
Water Temple is really well done, and it makes me ponder on the kinds of things that make a Water Temple a Water Temple, if that makes sense? Really solid choice of instrumentation here, it really is befitting of the title. The first third being more spaced out with soft tones and simple melodies works really well. I was not expecting the transition into a more rhythm oriented middle section - kudos on the percussion here, it does a great job of keeping the beat whilst not being obtrusive about it. The bass prevalence here is really nice too - great to hear it rear its head properly and groove a little. Solid use of motifs throughout this track as a whole.
Wave's Theme is really nice - a great example of less-is-more. The mix isn't crowded, there's rarely a lot happening at once, and there's ample time to breathe between sections. Great example of underscoring here - the mix does not need to be packed to the brim with movement or sound; choice melodies, chords and accompaniment can say a lot more by doing a lot less. I think that's what makes the last section of this track stand so tall - it was in no rush to get to this point, and as a result it sounds beautiful when it finally does crescendo into this flow-state.
Corporate Inc is a departure from expectations, in a good way. A palate cleanser - it's dark, ambles along at its own pace and doesn't quite make the intended mood clear. Strikes this ambiguity that has me feeling curious but also a little tense. Really nice choice of voicings here - very down-tempo and mysterious.
And, at last, the Final Boss. This is an interesting track - some really nice orchestration present here and it makes no attempt to hide the drama. Great use of articulations here with the strings to really set the stage, and I love how the mallets take control of guiding the lead tones.
Great work - this is super solid and a tight execution of the theme. Some really nice arrangements here and they're produced well to boot, too.
Your comment absolutely made my day, thank you!!
I do not know why, but for me this soundtrack was a little scary :\ (Especially Corporate Inc). You have created an interesting atmosphere of mystery, mysticism
. P.S. Did someone guess to use a siren in the soundtrack? Hurray!
Didn't notice the siren thing hahaha
We weren't going for scary, but glad you liked it nonetheless!
Ow ! The first ones : Cuteness overload. And the last two : Epic. Beautiful work. Love how tender it is and nice to listen to. Thank you for sharing.
Hahaha we thought a lot about how to sort the tracks. Thanks for listening!
There is something so special about Corporate Inc.... i got distracted while listening and stopped paying attention to what the name of each song was but i got snapped right back during that song and had to listen to the full thing again just because that song captivated me so much... The piano is so delectably moody and the synths add that lovely little extra layer of creepy and edgy... wow. Everything else was really nice, but Corporate Inc was my standout for sure
Thank you! It's a standout for me as well. Really glad you enjoyed our submission!
Wow, I love this! It is so magical! great work
Thank you!!
I love this soundtrack ! There's a very nice harmonic science in all of this, chord progressions are very rich and subtle. And all the tracks really have that "underwater" feeling, well done !
Thanks! We worked hard to achieve the whole underwater feeling
Really enjoyed Wave's Theme! The beginning reminded me a lot of Celeste and the strings packed a lot of emotion. I also loved the atmosphere of Corporate Inc. Great work!
Thank you! Celeste is one of my favorite soundtracks, so your comment means a lot
Amazing soundtrack!!
I'd like to know how you have achieved the bell sounds in Deep Feeling and Wave's Theme.
Y fave is Final Boss, I love the glissandos at the beginning and strings sound as well.
Great job!!!
Thanks! I don't recall exactly how we made each sound, but I'll get back to you if I can remember
I adored the first track! I wish the entire OST had kept that energy because I am all here for that stuff. The rest of the songs were great don't get me wrong. It's just that the first track is absolutely my vibe!
Glad you liked the soundtrack!
Really cool writing and harmonic shift i really enjoyed all the OST! Only thing to work are mix and maybe sampleq quality :)
Good job^^
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it!
I absolutely love Corporate, Inc! That gave me a chuckle. I enjoyed your soundtrack. It was more on the calm side than many of them are but that's not a bad thing at all! Some of these songs take me back to Final Fantasy IX. It was very melodic and I really appreciate that. Overall well done!
Final Fantasy IX has a great soundtrack, glad we reminded you of it!
I'm a sucker for harp arpeggios, so Final Boss was an highlight for me :)
Really super good OST, some people have found that some tracks might lack a bit of punch but I have the same problem on my submission, it's hard to mix and master ahah
Anyways really great job!
Hahaha composing, mixing and mastering on such short notice is definitely a challenge. I really liked your submission as well.
Thank you!
oh thanks 🙏
Very pretty and atmospheric OST, really enjoyed it! Also loved the name 'Corporate Inc.' hahaha, truly the most evil sounding company of them all! I think the music is really well made and sounds good, I did find the reverb to be a tad heavy at times, maybe a bit of EQ or filtering out some frequencies might make the music sound even more clean. I agree with some of the other commenters about how all of the ideas are there for the final boss theme, but it doesn't quite have enough oomph to it. I've found that to get a bit more 'weight' to my sound, duplicating an instrument (maybe the brass for this boss theme), then panning the original track and the duplicate track to the L and R respectively, is a quick and easy way to get not only a fuller sound, but also a more immersive sound that really 'surrounds' the listener. I hope this helps! Overall really enjoyed listening to this track, great job!
Thank you for all the tips! They'll come in very handy for future compositions.
And yes, Corporate Inc is truly the definition of evil
Great ideas! The little transition riffs keep the dynamic and interest of your music! It's obvious that what you did here is mastered and that you hear what you're doing! The harmonies in "water temple" are gorgious!! Really nice submission!
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed our submission! =)
Really well produced soundtrack with a great sense of cohesion throughout. Especially like the atmosphere created in Corporate Inc, has a nice sense of depth and structure.. The final boss theme could be a bit stronger compared to the rest of the soundtrack, the ideas and material is there and just needs a bit of refinement. Lots of great work :)
Thank you for your feedback! Glad you liked the production!!
Really good entry! The Title theme instantly gave beach vibes. Water Temple is SO good dude, the drums come out of nowhere but they are executed so well as well as the bass. Corprate Inc. was also a standout track for me, gave me slight Organization 13 vibes and I think the villain-type sound you were going for with this piece came through perfectly. Good work, keep it up!
Thank you very much! The drums in that track were a bit of a gamble, glad it paid off!
Atmospheric, and poignant. I loved the synths pads throughout the tracks. Thumbs up!
Thank you! A thumbs up for you too!
These tracks are very precious! I wish they were longer! (๑•̀ㅂ•́)و✧
Thank you! I also wish they were longer hahaha
This is outstanding, sounds professional. The use of dynamics are amazing and the whole range of frequencies feels fully utilized. I like the instrumentation and I feel it fits well to the theme. Very fun soundtrack. I am really impressed by this, great job!
Thanks a lot, we had a lot of fun making it!
Loving the vibes. Definitely unique. Each track seems fun to make. Awesome work!
Thanks! We tried to be as varied as possible to convey the game we imagined
