Great job submitting a game! The intro is awesome and got me excited to play the game. This is a super simple game but I love it and I think it has good replay-ability. Its excels at providing a sense of mastery as you get used to the power and the distances. Hitting each target with one shot in succession is so satisfying. The only thing I could say is that I never adjusted the angle of the canon, based on the comments someone else had the same experience. I definitely like your idea of adding obstacles or hills to encourage changing the angle of the canon. Good work and thanks for participating!

What a challenging game! I included it in my Nokia 3310 Jam 4 compilation video series, if you’d like to take a look. :)

Hi !
The concept is really nice, especially for a little phone game.

It somehow reminds me mine, the same spirit but yours is an RPG, mine is real time.

Great job overall.

Thanks for playing and your feedback!

I'm glad you understood the spirit of my game. I wanted something quite simple, requiring skill and with just enough depth to keep someone engaged for 5-10 minutes.

This game was tricky to handle at first, but once I got the hang of the controls and your projectile's physics, it was really fun! Not being able to see your target makes landing your hits challenging, but once you get some practice, it's not too tough, and the upgrades make things easier without being too powerful.

Thanks for playing and for your feedback!

I'm glad you think the upgrades were balanced.

Great animation and art. Trying to aim was a bit hard, but after the first couple attempts it was much easier.

Nice animations! Reminds me of some classic Flash games.
I like your idea of using an overlay to split the pixels, although I got a visual error with the grid not lining up properly, despite trying multiple zoom amounts.

Developer

Thanks for the feedback! I was quite happy with my explosion animation.

It is a shame about the grid overlay, I didn't notice till the last minute that it wasn't displaying properly on some computers.

The graphics are really pretty and the animation is quite gorgeous, but the mechanic of having to roughly estimate shots from a number and no real visual indicator is kind of weird. I think it would've been better had the camera panned over to show where everything is first.

Developer

Thanks for the feedback!

I know what you mean about not being able to see the targets, it is hard to get a sense of the space.

I like your panning idea! I had thought about making a zoomed out camera mode that allows everything to be seen at once but worried that the low resolution would make it unpleasant.

Okay, first of all: Cool graphics.

This game looks pretty good for the limitations of the jam.

The game is also fun. First it's hard to hit more than one target but as you play more you get better at guessing how you have to shoot to hit targets at different distances.

I also like the idea of having powerups in this game (I know it's the theme, but still). Even though I pretty quickly settled on a tactic to never change the angle of the cannon and only variate the power of the shot, so one of the three powerup types I never touched...

I had fun playing this game and it's nice to see how you get better at it.

I agree with you on the tactic of not changing the cannon angle. I realised while play-testing that its kind of redundant, although I was considering a way to make it meaningful, for example maybe the terrain could have hills that require high angles to shoot over.

Thanks for playing and your feedback!
