Great job submitting a game! I really like the visuals and the player sprite and run animation. The skull enemy is my fav. My run ended when I spawned in a level and got cornered by five skulls. I enjoyed the compass feature, its useful but simple navigation.

The game needs a little more to do/fleshing out because it gets redundant quickly. But it sounds like you're really proud of the technical aspects of the game, which you should be! Really awesome work on the level generation. I forgot to write down my score but I think I got around L16. Thanks for participating!

Thanks for hosting the jam! We had a great time working within such interesting constraints.

Really nice game. I included it in my Nokia 3310 Jam 4 compilation video series, if you’d like to take a look. :)

Hey thanks for playing! Always cool to see video commentary :)

Super impressive  that it's random gen levels! I imagine that took up a lot of your development time.

The sound effects are nice and really nostalgic for some reason...

This Game Is Very Well Made And I Hade A Lot Of Fun Playing It! I Feel As The Game Could Be Speedrunned Very Easily! Overall Amazing :0

Thanks very much! :D

Really well realised game there :D

I definitely felt there was a missing “use the money to upgrade” feature; but I respect that you chose to deliver a well polished tight scope.

Developer

Thank you! Upgrades are on our list of potentials, for sure.

Got to L-8. Pretty fun game, I like the graphics quite a bit.

Reached L-9 and killed a bunch of Skulls before their cousin took revenge on me! In the second time, I walked into slime and died!

The thing that interested me the most in this game is that each time I think I found all it had to offer, it gives me something new, but I guess I saw all of it by my second death. This could potentially become an addictive game, especially if you added both the Bombs (destroyable walls) & Leaerboard.

Some Notes:

(*) I defeated a lot of enemies and they never dropped anything. It'll be cool if they dropped coins or anything. Even a cosmetic item that doesn't do anything could work. But I guess this is not a core feature to think about at this stage.

(*) One time I was spawned only to get another level down. I either spawned on top of the stairs or next to them towards the direction I was walking, I think new stairs should be at least a couple of steps away from any spawn point.

Those skulls are pretty ruthless :)

Enemy drops will likely be a feature if we get around to working on this again. I agree it would be nice to get something out of the combat beyond just survival.
