Thanks for playing and your feedback!

I'm glad you understood the spirit of my game. I wanted something quite simple, requiring skill and with just enough depth to keep someone engaged for 5-10 minutes.

What a coincidence that we made similarly styled games!

I like it, there is a variety of enemies and it feels good to acquire upgrades. It is impressive that you have used C++. I like the music.

My only criticism is that it could be better tuned. I found often that a very large wave of enemies would appear suddenly and I would be destroyed without a chance to fight back. If it wasn't for this, and with a bit more balancing, this could be my favourite that I've played so far gameplay-wise.

Thanks for playing and for your feedback!

I'm glad you think the upgrades were balanced.

Really cool! I was impressed mostly by the surprisingly deep gameplay which kept me playing for about 45 mins.  It got me really thinking and discovering strategies to get the most out my "pengs".

Art and animations are nice. Sound effects are satisfying.

Nothing bad to say really.

I like the hand-crafted environment and enjoyed exploring it. The story made me curious and inspired me to play to the end! It took me about 5 attempts.

Thanks for playing and your feedback!

Super impressive  that it's random gen levels! I imagine that took up a lot of your development time.

The sound effects are nice and really nostalgic for some reason...

It starts off very difficult! I couldn't get past the second boss.

I like the art and animations. The screen space is used well, the parallax in the background looks really cool!

It's great that you've come up with a back story and character for each boss, which is a creative task that I'm not very good at!

I also liked the intro music.

Thanks for the feedback! I was quite happy with my explosion animation.

It is a shame about the grid overlay, I didn't notice till the last minute that it wasn't displaying properly on some computers.

Thanks for the feedback!

I know what you mean about not being able to see the targets, it is hard to get a sense of the space.

I like your panning idea! I had thought about making a zoomed out camera mode that allows everything to be seen at once but worried that the low resolution would make it unpleasant.

Haha, it is exactly as advertised! The game slowly takes you down a path towards agony and the levels start to become excruciatingly difficult towards the end. I reached my skill limit at around level 38.

The game starts off simple but steadily through the levels an interesting set of movement mechanics is introduced. The design and amount of levels is impressive, every movement mechanic has been explored and used in creative ways. Each new level feels unique and adds to the difficulty in small increments.

I did feel that sometimes the collision with hazards was inconsistent although that may just be the nature of the 84x48 resolution.

The game adheres the jam rules well.

I agree with you on the tactic of not changing the cannon angle. I realised while play-testing that its kind of redundant, although I was considering a way to make it meaningful, for example maybe the terrain could have hills that require high angles to shoot over.

Thanks for playing and your feedback!

Really liked this one! I love the sound and shake feedback when you hit a wall or "boi" and it is very satisfying. I instantly got hooked on the gameplay and kept hitting the R button. One criticism is that the levels become challenging very quickly and the difficulty could be introduced in smaller steps. I do enjoy the difficulty though and is essential to making it fun!

Nice pixel art, sounds and satisfying gameplay! I love digging up coins and hearing the pickup sound. It is fully functional and well balanced.

I like the cinematic intro, the timing of the animations and music made me feel like I was watching the beginning of a movie.

Not bad for your first project!

Really nice looking graphics, very consistent style throughout. The music helps a lot to build tension and I love all the sound effects.

It doesn't seem to load for me unfortunately

Cool idea! I found it slightly annoying hearing that sound whenever I change direction, and it was frustrating to be killed in one hit by the enemies, but the graphics are great, camera and animation is very smooth and this is impressive for only 3 days!

I like the art and colours.

Decent level design, nice art. Unique theme interpretation.

Unique theme implementation and mechanic! Levels are very well designed and fun. I love all the music, but particularly the track that gets played upon finishing the game. Also like the detailed character animations.

Lovely art, 10/10 gnomes. Music fits well.

I love the physics of the orbs, it's very difficult but satisfying when you hit one!

Takes quite a long time to move around. I like the graphics! Pleasant environment and music.

I tried pressing space and enter but I couldn't get past the intro text. Listening to the music and seeing the little knight makes me want to play it! Let me know if you make a working version.

Awesome that it's random gen! I love the pixel art, the colours are chosen well, enemies, walls and background are easy to distinguish and it pleases my eyes. Particle effects look cool! Aiming is a bit glitchy.

All round lovely game! The tunnel building mechanic is challenging enough to make me think and is satisfying. I like the art and the sound track is nice and chill.

Started off as a sweet, upbeat story but slowly becomes dark and saddening. I like that though and if a game makes me feel a strong emotion then I rate it highly. I think theme is well implemented,  and audio is great (punch sound is incredibly satisfying).

It wasn't obvious how to use the time-slow mechanic and I got stuck on the level with the spikes and three boxes but it's a really cool idea! Could do with some tutorial levels that get the player introduced to the mechanics in small steps. I think it fits the theme and special object quite well.

I like the level design, each new level requires me to make some mistakes and think before I figure out how to complete it.  The character animations are really cool.

My only complaint is that quite often I end up climbing an edge when I want to drop down, but I also appreciate how you worked around that and made it part of the challenge on some levels.

I've had a thought, are you multiplying the rate of freezing by the frame delta time? My monitor is 144hz which might explain why I freeze to death after 2 or 3 steps outside the house.

Quite tricky and requires strategy! Gets me thinking about where I should build fires, whether I should risk grabbing that log on the other side of the island. Graphics are clean and nice to look at.

I couldn't seem to get any where without freezing to death. I like the environment and music. I'd be interested to try a better working version!

Quite challenging! Requires both hands and gets my brain whirring. I like the variety of sounds that give feedback on what is happening in the game.

I really like the graphics, dark and cold. I'm afraid to wander far from the tent! Good use of theme.

It took me a while to figure out what I had to do. I like the unique mechanic of finding the correct temperature on the level, although I feel it is not very deep. I had fun and played it to the end though!

It fits the theme and special object well. I like the atmosphere, the audio and graphics work well and I got the sense that there was a story being told.

That cat is meaner than he looks!

Fits the theme very well and I had fun thinking about how to complete the puzzles. The heating and cooling mechanic is interesting and unique and I think has lots of potential.
