Anything you want to say to players before they play?
The game is a really small prototype.
As a game designer, I don't have a lot of knowledge in coding so this jam was kind of a test for me.
I tried to blend Animal Crossing and Parappa the raper in order to create something fresh with wholesome rapers.
I have implemented everything that I wanted but I didn't have the time to polish everything, sadly, or create quests and more musical gameplay(and writing rap verses for ex), even though the system to do it is done. Please, don't try to break the game :p

HOW TO PLAY :
WASD to move, E to interact with NPCs. Arrows during the music gameplay.

Nice graphics! I included it in my compilation video series of the Ludum dare 42 compilation video series, if you’d like to take a look :)

Hi !
This game is really cute and have great effects. I find it really slow when the character is turning right or left.
The main problem that made the game unplayable is the UI which isn't well calibrate.
The music is simple but efficiant !
Great job !

Cute graphics, but it's too difficult for me.

So, one thing I don't understand is why the arrow keys to press are "Up", "Down" and "Right", where it could have been "Left", "Down" and "Right"? Maybe it is an intended challenge, but personnally I just thought it makes the beats hard to read, and the controls confusing. Also, sometimes I lost point by doing nothing, I still don't know why.^^'

That being said, the game is just lovely! I really enjoyed its cute atmosphere, its pace, and the little world it creates. The transitions and text animations are also fantastic, giving to the game a very special aesthetic. And even the rhythm game, while a bit flawed, succeeds to be pretty fun.

Overall quite a nice entry. Good job!

Ok, so this looks like something I would play.  It has that THPS2 vibe with a nice little PaRapper the Rapper sort of look.  I love that.  I had a lot of fun.  There's a raccoon so instant brown points there.

The actual gameplay part was a bit interesting though.  I had an issue when the camera would change that the notes kinda lagged for a second.  Made it really hard to hit.  That and the notes were really hard to see (I think you could afford a colorful theme on the notes or maybe a backing that makes them pop).  I feel like the timing was a bit hard to understand as well...  The music also didn't seem to match the timing super well either, could just use more polish I think.

But overall, I think this was really impressive and I've love to see more.

Fantastic!

The rap UI doesn't seem to scale correctly on my 1600x900 monitor :(

Developer

Hello Iseeicy,

I am sorry to hear that. I didn't have the time to polish everything in the game so everything was scaled for a 1920x1080 screen. You can still find some bugs as well but I think that the game is still pretty playable though.

Thank you for your report !
