Pretty good game. The enderpearl was smooth to use although i died a fair bit. The extra collectables were fun for the extra challenge, sadly I missed 1. Well done in the 48 hours!

Lovely little entry. You got the ender pearl mechanic spot on, just a little hard to aim some times. I kept clicking on my book marks when trying to shoot up. My fault, not the games :P

Music was very charming aswell, good job with your game!

The teleport mechanic is really well implemented. I do agree shorter cooldown could make for awesome combos, but that would require different level design and i understand that takes it's time. Congrats on your entry!

I like it ! Sometimes it's hard to aim, and I think that a shorter cooldown could've spiced up the tricks the player can do.

Great work πŸ’ͺ🏼

It's a fun game with some fun Easter Eggs. I really enjoyed the game and it is the longest I have played up until now. I really like the upgrade because it makes the game fresh and I like the difficulty. The art looks fine and the big spikes look really pixalated, so you shouldn't stretch them like that. Overall I had a lot of fun.

I really love your game! It's a nice and challenging puzzle game. The timeout on the button makes it really hard to play.

I love the way you make the Easter Eggs in the game. I managed to find it :)

Some advice:

Player shouldn't shoot the second Pearl before the first one landed.

Camera could zoom out when the pearl fly away. You may follow this tutorial from Brakeys

I'm always down to puzzle games, and this one is great! You had a great idea of using Enderpearl's teleport mechanics to reach unaccesible platforms. But I gotta say... this game is so hard XD
There were places where you had to jump in an exact point, or you would die. I died a lot of times, but I managed to reach the end. Btw, your easteregg made me laugh, nice one!

I would suggest to add at least a pan to the camera, because there were times I couldn't see what was below or above me, so I had to do some leap of faiths, which lead me to more deaths.

Nice and solid entry, congrats! I would love to see more of this game!

Nice, simple game :)

Unfortunately with a laptop mousepad I can't fire while jumping so I wasn't able to get very far, however this was enjoyable and it's very clear what the mechanic is that you used.

Wow, your game is challenging and amazing.  I can not end this game lol. I like your  controller it smooth and very  easy to control.  :)

Gotta say, this one is one of my favourites in terms of using existing mechanics to create new and innovative ways to play, you really did an great job with leading through the different mechanics and introducing more and more challenging ones as time goes on, as others have said would have been nice to add more polished art, but on the other hand the presented art is more than enough to create a fun game :)

Only remark would be sometimes it is a bit hard to estimate where you are going to jump to next especially if it is offscreen maybe a way to peek ahead or some other solution would have been great here.

Overall really good work given the time constraints :)

Playing my game the next morning after submission. I guess I can give feedback on my own game.
I do think the level design is a bit phoned in.

There are some really great and compelling concepts especially with the bonus collectables but there's an overall lack of polish and proper difficulty curve. I do like the way concepts are introduced like the switch. Level design definitely needed more playtesting and work.

The camera needs a lot of work. Currently you have to memorise level layouts and work around that and it is somewhat acceptable due to the low consequences of death but I really think that there should be an option to pan the camera around or use single room levels with a fixed screen. If the game gets polished for another release that must be done.

I do like moving around. It feels fun and responsive, especially the wall climbing. I like the different alternating sound effects and falling sounds and stuff. I think animations for the cube should be considered in the future however.

I like the feedback of collecting the collectables. It feels satisfying due to the sound effect and the animation that plays, although it does feel half-finished as well.

I think the overall game mechanic is a lot of fun. It's fun to try and aim your projectile at just the right spot and mixing that in with movement is great. I do think a preview arc might be useful in addition to challenges that focus more on reflexes. The strongest challenge in the game is probably the collectable where you have to wall climb up, release your wall climb and fire your projectile at just the right time to land without overshooting. The whole game should be more like that if possible.

I noticed the crosshair alignment is a bit off with your actual projectile trajectory. I am not sure how to fix that yet but I want to sometime.

The game can definitely use a lot of polish but it's still quite fun for what it is and the core mechanic is wrong enough that even with the jank it's compelling.

Really solid game. Only thing it's lacking is detail, the mechanic is very well done. If this was more polished with art and better sounds, it could be made into an actual puzzle game. Never would have though of Minecraft as a source for this jam.

This was amazing to play, I can really see the seeds of something that could be expanded greatly.

The mechanic itself works really well, a few things:

1. The 'pearl' trajectory being affected by the players velocity is great, although I think this might need to be tweaked while falling.

2. The climb mechanic doesn't seem necessary provided you reduce the delay time for pearl throwing

3. I don't quite understand the switches, are they timed?

4. The levels are a bit unforgiving, but maybe thats a good thing :)

Developer (1 edit)

Yeah they are timed. The only cue is the audio sounding like a countdown. I do think in the future better feedback that it's on a timer should be given, such as what Portal does.

I really like the game, the mechanic is recognizable (From Minecraft), and the graphics are simple that gives a "professional" look in way of minimalism, GREAT JOB, (:
