Very fun game! I really enjoyed the presentation of it. I do wish the player moved faster, or there was a 'sprint', but otherwise awesome job!

I like it and you can make it a full game of this, and maybe add some dash or rise the speed a bit, it's a bit boring moving through the map at a steady speed and I never felt in danger by the birds.
But it's a fun game that I play until the end and probably will do it again :D
I don't think the way you implemented the limitation really adds anything to the game. That said, I really enjoyed it and reached the final boss! I died though :( I wish you would let me restart at the start of the current level rather than the very beginning, I would have tried to beat the boss again. By the way, when I shot the boss I didn't really understand if I was doing any damage, the sound was different and the boss seemed unphased.
Well... if all you can say is that my game has bad implementation of the limitation and is unfair or hard I have nothing to add to your feetback. You sayed you really enjoyed the game but you didn't even bother to play it again (The game takes like 8 minutes of your life) so it does not seem like you enjoyed it. So it's little bit weird.
When you shot the boss he loses one health of maximum 15. And yea the boss is unphased bcs I was glad I finished it all in time. Still don't take this personaly. I just think that you died on boss and decided to quit the game. And you didn't even bother to say anything what I could I change you just sayed the game is "bad".
Still Thanks, I guess.
You read my comment in a much worse way than I wrote it, I'm going to try to clarify what I meant to clear the air. First thing first, I never said your game was unfair or hard, so I don't know where you got that from. About the limitation: when I play that type of game I usually keep moving all the time, so not being able to stop didn't really change anything for me. It doesn't mean your game is bad. And yes when I died I could have restarted, but a) I have a job and a limited amount of lunch time and more than 100 games in this jam I haven't tested yet, and b) I hate doing the same stuff again and again where I feel I shouldn't have to in video games. You said it yourself: "You are right but I didn't want the boss to be too hard because if he kills you you start from the begining."
I did tell you about stuff you could change, but maybe not directly enough:
- add a checkpoint between levels for people like me who want to see the ending but don't want to repeat levels they already completed when they die
- try to find a way to better communicate when you hit the boss. Against regular enemies it is fine because they die in one hit, but against the boss the player needs to see that what they are doing is affecting the boss (there are common ways to do that, like making it blink white, adding particles, or simply displaying a life bar)
I'm sorry if my comment upset you, I just wanted to share my experience with your game that, I insist, I enjoyed (and rated well).
Fun - I wasn't good enough at your game to offer much feedback, I liked the art and characters.
Wow, talk about the arcade feel. You definitely nailed it with the oldies arcade style. I have some feedback for you!
1) The game was a bit easy but didn't really stop me from enjoying the visuals / music / atmosphere
2) The bird on the desert level all the way onto the right of the map behind the door started chasing after me even when the door was closed but maybe that's an intended mechanic!
Overall, great job on finishing a complete game and stylizing it so gracefully
I really like the aesthetic! Great music, and art. The map visualization is really cool!
I was impressed by the number of levels you archieved to make with different sprites included!
really good job!
Awesome use of the limitation. Combining it with a maze was a great idea. The sound of the and the gun reload mechanic felt very satisfying. I played through it and managed to kill the boss (who had a cool design)!
I enjoyed this game- although if you had a bullet item you could kill the boss in 0.5 seconds :)
I had a lot of fun with this one.
Although the graphics are (intentionally) extremely low-res, the color palettes are excellent, and the overall result is a world that actually looks rather nice. The music is some rollicking honky-tonk madness that I enjoyed the whole way through.
The boss design was hilarious.
One small recommendation: More feedback when the player's bullet strikes the boss. A flash of color, perhaps? A louder sound?
