Interesting idea. I didn't have my glasses with the 19x scope so I didn't see shit but the missing audio is a big miss for me. Otherwise hoped it would be more fun.

I enjoyed it way more than I was hopping for. If it's truly your first good job! I liked the idea and actually was hopping for more games of this "speedrun" genre to appear on this game jam.
On the other hand there is a lot of things to learn from:
- Mouse sensitivity is pain. Might work on your PC but slider for adjusting would be nice. Same thing applies for FOV.
- Audio is very bad and repetetive, probably the weakest side of your game.
- 3D is generaly not good for online web export. Not because of slow PCs but it just performs badly even on high-end PCs.
- Objective is to "go as fast as you can" and yet there is: no timer, no reset button, no leaderboard and otherwise no actuall reason to "go as fast as you can".
- Textures being applied wrongly. Textures that are streched are generaly not plesant to look at and I wouldn't recommend them.
- I am able to spam really fast the "tongue mechanic" and simply finish the game in less than 30 seconds. Maybe delay could fix that? (just an idea)
- Web page could use some love.
Otherwise I enjoyed the game :)
I don't feel like your sarcasm is necessary. You have to remember this is still a game made in short period of time. I've tested the game with dozen of people and we just didn't catch this bug/exploit.
Thank you for your collaboration and I'll do my best to fix any bugs anyone finds and properly reports.
Thank you.
I can't agree more, buit... the time management for this game was from my POV spent wisely on things that are important. I really appreciate your feedback.
Have you actually tried the local co-op? I maybe should have given up on that because now I seriously doubt that someone is going to return to this game and play it with a friend.
From my pov yea it is... maybe its the pettiness of myself beeing a programmer. Problems for me are the sloppy movement "WSAD" and the gravity beeing set as constant and not additive. Also my understanding is that it was supposed to be a fast paced game? But every mechanic feels like it slows me down. When I hook using the toungue I would expect to gain momentum not to lost it when I inevitably hit the wall.
Still don't take this as some kind of attack I just simply point out the things that seem obviously bad for me.
I can see that not knowing WHERE the enemies are comming from is not ideal... BUT...
I think there are many things that I made to help you know they are comming:
- when wave starts:
- "Wave incoming" sound plays
- Number of current wave shows up
- Everytime "princcess" is hit:
- "Queen hit" sound plays
- Screen shakes
- Her health is displayed above her
- Bottom line is used as a timer for when enemies are comming
Next time I'll try to make it more clear of where are the enemies comming from. Point taken.
Thank you.
