Getting over it with Eldward Droidy.

I liked it quite a bit. The level design clearly had some thought put into it. The gameplay is extraordinarily stressful, but it rewards skillful play, and you can feel yourself getting better and better the more you play the game. I wish the jump was a little more lenient/had something of a momentum to it, but you could make chalk this up to the dreaded skill issue as displayed by yours truly. Lol.

All I know is that the game had me on the edge of my seat, and that's a very good sign!

As regards the presentation, everything looks nice, and I like the transitions between zones. You said there was music though, right? Sadly, I couldn't hear anything on either the Windows version or the browser version of the game. NO WAIT MY HEADPHONES WERE UNPLUGGED!

Great job!

Developer

Thank you so much! Dont know why you cant here the music, sorry bout that

Reminds me a bit of doodle jump and the constant thought about the water coming after you fall makes it super fun and a bit stressful. I like how the rocks change color as you go up but I would like some more indication!

Developer

Indication of what? Im guessing you mean the water but i want to know if your thinking of something else

It's difficult but I had a great time, I never passed the first moving platform.

As NotMEE12 said if you had some checkpoints OR some scoring about "how high you got" it would be cool

Great work otherwise

Developer

Thank you, i agree that some sort of scoring would be good

Very fun but maybe a little too difficult

Submitted

Ngl quite difficult. The game overall is quite fun (and hard lol). It would be really cool to have some kind of meters like how far you are, how high water is, distance between you and water or etc. (probably distance between you and water would be the most useful lol). The concept is quite unique (should’ve thought about it lol). Art is nice. The game is quite relaxing if you don’t see the water and you don’t know where it is, but it’s quite stressful when you see it. Checkpoints would be a nice addition. Overall: Great Game!

Thank you. Thats an amazing idea, something like a bar on the side showing your position and the waters position would of been a great addition i regret not thinking of that,

Fun game and quite difficult well done! Nice interpretation of the limitation.

This was fun! I like how simple the idea is, it was difficult but really satisfying to keep climbing. Thanks :)

Thank you

agree with what a lot of people are saying! Definitely a learning curve/when to time the jumps. Megaman level of difficulty for platforming. But I really enjoyed it! cool tunes.

Developer

Thank you

Super great game. I loved the tension of the game. Just a small feedback: Add some kind of score system to the game and I will probably gonna play it all night. :D

Developer

thank you, I thought of adding a timer so you can see how fast you beat it and try to beat it faster but I wasn't sure how to make it

Congrats on making a second game! Had a fun time playing it, my heart was racing when I got near the end haha

Developer

Thank you!

Addictive enough to try multiple attempts! Really nice concept. Almosttt made it to the part with the black sky! :)

Very solid game! It didn't feel overly hard (I only died to water once, by missing a jump), but the simple visuals and music of choice work very well together with the mechanics and theme. Really liked changing backgrounds and occasional decorations, they kept it from getting stale.

Developer

Thank you! I wasnt to sure about the music so im glad you liked it

I finished the whole game and enjoyed it. Great game!

Developer

Thanks

Really enjoyed the movement in this, could feel when I was improving, and only times I buggered up was my fault. The jumps had super good progression to them as well, really well done!

Thank you so much

It's one of those games for me that start out difficult but then gets easier the more attempts you make! I agree with another person's idea on the start countdown at the beginning, or a tiny headstart (couple of seconds) before the water rises just to fiddle with the movement before it begins.

It's fun and satisfying to try to beat! Great job :)

Developer

Thank you, yeah a countdown would of been good.

I love the sense of urge coming from water level rising. And the graphics are pretty cool.

I got to the purple part, the game might benefits from a checkpoint like mechanic.

Developer

Thanks, I can see what a checkpoint would be nice but I wanted to make it like getting over it where if you fall you have to climb back up

Submitted(+1)

great game u should put a start countdown before the water starts rising

Developer

Thats a good idea

Addicting, got to the part with 3 towers of 2-block tall platforms jutting out

Submitted(+1)

Nice job on the platforming, its simple but feels nice, also I like seeing other godot developers! The jumps are tight, but the coyote jump mechanic you added in makes them much more doable. The main thing I would say to work on is an easy fix, and its just that there was a few places where you got soft locked. I'm not sure if this was by design or not, but it's just not a very satisfying way to lose in a game like this. Great Job!

Developer

Thank you, i never knew you could get softlocked woops (sorry). Will keep this in mid in the future

Submitted

Interesting, and gz on the first game done!

I found it quite hard at first since as you said, the margin of error is really small at first but when you get a hang of it, you can outpace the water and have some attemps in the mid to late game! I'm sad that there is nothing happening once you touch the flag tho!

Developer(+1)

Thanks, i haven't made a win screen or anything like that before so ill try next time
