I like the concept! I think this is a good simple game that does well with the limitation. I did get stuck outside the arena once. Good job!

Simple idea, but super fun! The sound also fits nicely.

For the color changing, maybe giving it as option to directly select instead of rotate may work. Almost never used it.

Also,  I would love a dash as ninja.

My suggestions are:

- Make it more juicy (Squash & Stretch, screen shakes, staggers, particles...)

- Be careful of the game volume or/and make it possible to adjust it

This is a really fun game that perfectly follows the limitation. The only thing that I can think of to improve is maybe some kind of extra motivation to launch multiple shurikens, because someone with enough time might just launch one and get a super highscore without really playing the fun part of the game. Really fun game :)

Nice game, simple but fun.

  • Use physical keys in ProjectSettings > Input (if you’re using InputSystem this should not be needed). This makes it so players with different keyboards can play too (not QWERTY)
  • One “flaw” of the concept is that you could totally just throw one shuriken and keep the game very simple, whil earning slow but easy points, One way to fix this would be to autofire every x time, or include enemies for exemple

There is also a shuriken count for how many you can put on the screen. Autofire sounds like a good idea.

Hey there! Our games are pretty similar lol. 

The shurikens felt deadly maybe because of good sfx.

 I tried cheating the game by throwing shurikens exactly staright so that they would keep bouncing of in a straight line. But I guess due to the lack of friction my plan failed badly xD.

Hey I loved your game! I noticed that there is an exploit when you go to a corner and throw a shuriken! It pushed me off the arena, and it was basically free points from there! Art and music are great, and the game idea is simple but phenomenal! One of my favorites from this jam so far!

Might be that the collider is disabled for a moment when throwing a shuriken cause it was messing up the physics to keep it enabled always, I was too tired to think of anything else, and thank you for the comment. I'll check your game out.
