Wow, this is great!

Game is very stressful, you have to manage oxygen, arming the warhead, random hazards AND a ticking clock! I love how when you have 30 seconds left the cosmonaut says "i don' think I will make it back"

I managed to complete the game with 12 seconds left, i had my hands sweating!

I love the sound design, little clips of cosmonaut saying how many minutes he have left before the meteor strikes the Earth and stuff.

Movement is very hard to control which heightens the tension even more.

You can't destroy some rocks near the warhead, they transform into something that isn't destructible, so you have to find a different way to the warhead, again, this heightens the tension even more.

Most of the games that i played use pixel art, but I'm glad there are non-pixel art games as well.

Background art is really good.

This is my favorite game from the jam, you all did a great job!

Feedback:

1. About the tutorial, i think it would be nice to have a tutorial on earth where the cosmonaut is preparing for the mission where you can teach mechanics one by one, you can even add a bit of a story telling as well.

2. Character sprite feels a bit derpy, which seems a bit inappropriate when you consider how serious and tense this game is.

Thank you for playing and your feedback! highly appreciated.

In regards to the tutorial, i completely agree. i originally had an "under water" tutorial section set on earth - but.. time constraints got the best of me :)

And the character, ive always wanted to do a ragdoll, and thought a ragdoll in space would be interesting :)

Heya I am doing video feedback!

Super charming entry!

Hey! Thank you for your review, it was quiet interesting to see how people play the game!

In regards to your comments, i do agree, i could have added more of an image to tell when you are recharging.

In regards to the drill, it may have been missed in the tutorial section, your oxygen, depletes automatically (1 per sec), if you use thrusters - itll go by an extra 1 per second, and same with the drill, use all 3 and you will reduce at 3per second.

I noticed a little bug after i published, as if you run out of oxygen, but still touch the shuttle after arming the nuke - both scenes play.

A little problem which i will fix after the jam :)

In regards to the movement, you are correct, it was completely intentional, i wanted it to feel like you where actually floating in space.. you would need to build up your speed, etc.

I like drilling games but the mix of sci-fi and tension of this one is great! Maybe I would do this darker? Otherwise, I you did this in a weekend, you deserved those 15 cookies!

Developer

Thanks for playing, can you explain what you mean by "darker" ? as in, if you lose you hear all the people crying and dieing? haha

Submitted(+1)

hahaha, it’s not about the hearing people crying, in space nobody can hear that lol I meant the light. It could get darker as you dig. The music reminded me of the Thing movie too.

Developer

haha yeah that could have been  an option. But I have the rocks different shade of grey depending on its health. Lighter = easier to drill through

This was really nice, out of the drilling games i've found on this jam i think this is my favourite. Drilling with my butt was kinda weird sometimes tbh lol!

What a game dude, i love how you made the game feels like your really in space, the music is fitting alot, good game <3

Really, really enjoyed this one. Simple and intuitive, whilst being really satisfying to play. The level of challenge was dialed in to perfection, with a successful run always feeling tense and last minute.

The range of environmental hazards was great, with increased rotation proving particularly annoying (in a good way!)

Sound design was brilliant!

The ragdoll physics were hilarious, too.

Incredible game. Very polished. Would have been cool to have a scenario set in the ocean however

Developer

thanks 😀 I thought alot of people would use depth as ocean. So I decided to be different and use depth as the point of success..

To win, drill to a certain depth (centre of the asteroid)

This honestly feels so complete. Cutscenes in the beginning and as an ending. I personally struggled with the controls, but maybe thats just me or it requires more time to master.

Developer(+1)

It was designed soley around mouse. Left and right click to activate certain aspects of the astronaut.

I added key presses to activate just for those who don't want to click

Really liked the idea of using oxygen in place of health and the noodle arms were *chef's kiss*

how did you eat 15 cookies in 3 days?

Developer

Haha they weren't the biggest  😆
