How does your game fit the Magical Girl Genre?
↪ Ketchup is a magical girl with the powers to create ketchup blasts.

Which genres from categories A and B did you choose?
Platformer & Beat-em-up (ish)

How does your game mash those genres?
Well, it's very clearly a platformer, and the boss fight is my attempt at a beat em up.

Were the graphics/audio assets for your game made during the jam?
Yep, I found a music creator on the discord server for the jam and he made all the music and sound fx during the jam.

Super cute art! Some little control nitpicks here and there, It could do with a little less speed ramp up on running, a little cooldown before jumping again after landing, a little leeway to allow jumping after stepping off of a platform. Doesn't feel like it incorporates much beatemup aspects. But other than that, a short and sweet platformer!

It’s a decent game with cute graphics that plays kind of like Megaman, which is kinda cool. I like her running animation. The platforming controls/physics needs some work, I fell through a big solid platform on my way to the boss once and had to restart. Gameplay is too simplistic and needs more time to develop but I had some fun beating up the boss and her bees. Keep it up!

This is kind of a tough one to evaluate for me. It's competent enough, but a bit barebones and very, very short. I was through it in about three minutes.

The platforming generally works, but I found it overly sensitive and "bouncy" at times, which made one section unusually difficult. The shooting and sticky sections are neat additions, but because the game is so short, it felt like I was barely introduced to the mechanics before it was over.

The boss fight also felt a bit underwhelming: not very dramatic, and lacking impact, but I barely had time to really get a feel for it before it was over. I'm not a fan of overly drawn out boss fights, but this one was really short.

The graphics and audio are somewhat minimalist, but well executed. The limited colour palette is an odd choice, but matches the theme of the game.

I know there's ketchup and honey and maybe mustard but I didn't really get much more narrative than that, which is a bit of a disappointment because I think there's comedic potential there.

I think criticizing the brevity is a bit unfair of me. This is a game jam, and jam games are often short. You only have so much time to put something together. But on the other hand I really wish this game had more meat to it, because it does have some good ideas.

Love the theme. The music is great. I do like pixel art in general but this could use some work to get the pixels looking consistent with each other. I love the character design in the cover graphic but I wish that look carried over to the game too. Fast paced and highly responsive controls. The scrolling is a nice effect but the world felt empty despite being so colorful.

Need to fix the basics. But has some nice art =]

This is a really fun concept! Honestly, I LOVE the idea of a city full of condiment or even food themes heroes and villains. The graphics are good, and I especially liked the portrait of the main character, very cute!

Gameplay-wise, the gravity was way too strong on the jump. I did manage to beat the game, but that jump really was a struggle to use.

The mash-up probably could have been a little stronger. I didn't really get a lot of beat-em-up vibe from the gameplay. I'm not a huge expert, but there tends to be a little more back-and-forth in beat-em-ups, with tankier enemies and slower combat.

Overall, there was a lot to like about this game despite my issues. I'd love to see you continue it post-jam. Maybe even just drop the beat-em-up part then and go full-in on a platformer!

Jumping while moving is a little off with the keyboard, but it could be my skills. Pretty nice game though. Got some serious NES/Atari vibes. God Job.
