Loved the game! Buggy in a few spots (after first section when hitting B and last section after Mango part). Loss of progress seems to linear and predictable. Almost loses it's Foddian nature in my opinion, but still a great concept and wonderful execution. I'd love to see more levels/songs.
P.S. The slowing down and speeding up of the bar and words seemed way to unpredictable. Having it more consistent would be my only suggestion for improvements.
I absolutely love this game, it's a very unique twist on the Foddian Game genre, and instead of a traditional, "Start from the bottom of the map, get to the top", it completely throws that out and replaces it with a rhythm-based typing game. The art is phenomenal, and there were a lot of references that made me crack a smile. I personally love the Phoenix Wright games, so having those sort of elements mixed in was also nice. There were some glitches that made the game freeze entirely when going to another level, though for the most part I barely encountered any other bugs. It's not anything annoying to play either, would definitely give this game a shot.
T_T legit made me tear up reading this and the incredible review u left me. I would've fuckin loved to see more of this games' art, the spritework is incredibly expressive for being just static poses, I actually lol'd when I saw ludwigs full sprite for the first time. You really nailed the aesthetic and feel of the game, I really hope to see it on stream!
I can't say how much this game is unique and fun.
Gameplay 5/5: even with just a simple typing mechanic it fits so well with the whole game concept, sometimes it has some inconsistencies, but overall it is pretty well done. Also this mechanic is later extended and explored more in the last part, which just proves that this was perfect for what the game needed.
Originality 5/5: honestly, when I first started this game I couldn't believe it. I was expecting some 2d plataform, maybe 2d top down, some other stuff with movement and boxes, but a visual novel is such a interesting idea that almost no one did, Rn I have played only one visual novel in this jam that was "The Dating Game" . And It extends beyond the genre to create an interesting and fun narrative. This game is definitely a game I hadn't even imagined playing in this jam.
Presentation 5/5: the art is amazing, the music fits well, and of course the clips and videos are hilarious. Just great stuff.
Theme 5/5: it is a foddian, it has some challenge and difficult without being extremely frustrating to play.
Overall, I just laughed so much with the videos, clips and what I had to type. Before I start the game I was planning to spend 10 minutes playing this game, but when I saw, I already finished the game after playing for about 30 minutes without even noticing. It is a creative and interesting approach for this jam. Definitively a well done 10 days game jam. I would say that the end was too much abrupt, but the whole game is so fun and hilarious to play. Nice job.
when i was sent the third cutscene’s video (those cutscenes are videos that i just put in the game), i hadn’t seen much of the script and was laughing so much at it. all the art and comedy was from timmy. thanks for the amazing comments for our game, and i’m so happy you had so much fun with it.
ps: the ending bit was cut off because the last bit was really buggy and we wanted people to still win. i’ll maybe consider doing a post jam bug fixup where this and some other issues get ironed out.
I am not a typist, and I have a compact keyboard, so it feels like this game was made to spite me specifically. Nonetheless the visuals are cool, and the writing is very in keeping with Lud's brand, so I had a good time!
Really interesting game, bit of a stretch of the term foddian but besides that, very fun and well made game.
Was fun, the letters in the cutscene werent the clearest at first but it was fine. im not sure if it was a bug but my game ended right when the end of the song was happening? not sure if that was intentional but the game time said 299 minutes so theres def a bug there. Overall very fun tho.
Honestly a fun and super original idea. This just exposed how bad I am at typing and knowing where the letters are at. Even though I was bad the polish on this game made it really satisfying to keep trying over and over again.
