At first the controls felt backward, but after a while my mind adapted and it wasn't a problem. I feel like this one fit the theme pretty well -- there was a focus on using physics and you were your own worst enemy a lot of the times. There were also opportunities to catch yourself falling and recover, which I felt a lot of entries lacked and just focused on being brutally punishing. Many Foddy games have ways you can recover using the tools at your disposal, so I feel this is more true to the theme. Of course that's all subjective! Nice entry. Good vibes, and neat style.
A cool idea, though at the beginning I didn't quite get into control. Although I love this style of graphics, but this time I didn't really like it, I have a separate respect for the music.
Nice idea and aesthetic with the whole drawing style. I would maybe like if the whole screen was like the paper and there weren't borders, and if maybe the ball stayed at the same sort of blurriness as the levels? Once I worked out what was the goal and what was the danger I had a good time playing! If the charge was a bit faster it might've worked a bit better, it was a little frustrating if I rolled into the black dots while trying to charge a jump.
Overall, nice idea and take on the foddian genre, and good work!
Thanks so much for the good feedback! I absolutely wanted the whole screen to be the paper, but I needed to write some custom camera code for that and ran out of time! Such is the nature of jam games :) The speed of rotation and charge was very deliberate, but yeah it can be super frustrating at times. I will play around with some different values for that to see if anything plays better!
Very cool direction with the art! I would have liked to know how far along I was in the game, but otherwise I thought the mechanic worked very well and the pinball paddles are awesome!
The artwork in this game is gorgeous, great decisions with the aesthetic!
I like the hand-drawn art style and the concept, but I think a tutorial in the game would be nice. I think it's also probably too easy.
This is such a charming game. The decision to go with the hand drawn look really paid off. Controls are nice and crisp as well. Great job!
I love the little ways you can gain mastery over the controls, like learning to time your charges to hover in the air. The way you stay in the same position on the map when you die, allowing you to get comboed into going back several levels at once, is a really unique way to implement Foddian elements in a level based game. Great stuff!
Really love how the game looks, and also the addition of the pinball arm thing is super unique. I like it :D
ooh I really like the hand drawn/piece of paper look its really simple but effective and feels nostalgic for some reason. Also just feels nice to play!
"I'm in a Math class but I need to get back home to design my game for Ludwig!"
This is the first thing I thought when looking at your game :D
Simple but really effective design. It's actually working at your advantage!
Good job on your submission! I enjoyed playing a lot ! I reached level "e" than got into a blackhole, and into another, and into another, bam... back to the beginning haha!
:) I didn't have any Math classes to attend but I did do some level design with irl pencil and paper because I was away from my computer! I'm glad to hear you enjoyed it! The consecutive pitfalls can definitely be brutal, I had trouble deciding in some places whether or not it was justified by the theme lol.
