Im the god gamer I beat this before the devs went and updated. Old frogs remember the good ol days pre patch :Sadge:

Developer

Made it a little quicker for ya Dan ;) Figure I can tie rotation / charge speed to a setting and call it 'difficulty'. You still can't fly tho

Love the style, and the level design is amazing.

Developer(+1)

Thank you! i spent probably the most time on level design / building / testing so i'm glad you liked it!

Wow this game was ruthless yet fun! I couldn't stop playing even after getting sent back 3 levels haha. I really enjoyed the aesthetic and style of the game.

Developer

Thanks for playing! I definitely made something that can be a bit ruthless!

At first the controls felt backward, but after a while my mind adapted and it wasn't a problem.  I feel like this one fit the theme pretty well -- there was a focus on using physics and you were your own worst enemy a lot of the times.  There were also opportunities to catch yourself falling and recover, which I felt a lot of entries lacked and just focused on being brutally punishing.  Many Foddy games have ways you can recover using the tools at your disposal, so I feel this is more true to the theme.  Of course that's all subjective!  Nice entry.  Good vibes, and neat style.

Developer

Thanks so much for playing and streaming my game! I did spend a lot of time deliberating on how to make it more reminiscent of the foddian experience, so i'm glad it came through!

Really cool game. Nice concept! Please add inverted controls. <3 Can't wait to finish all the levels!

Developer(+1)

Thanks for playing and streaming my game! I will be sure to add inverted controls, and i'd love to watch you try to finish all the levels with a right-side-up keyboard!

A cool idea, though at the beginning I didn't quite get into control. Although I love this style of graphics, but this time I didn't really like it, I have a separate respect for the music.

Developer

Thanks for playing! the music is the only thing I didn't make, but it was chosen very deliberately :)

Nice idea and aesthetic with the whole drawing style. I would maybe like if the whole screen was like the paper and there weren't borders, and if maybe the ball stayed at the same sort of blurriness as the levels? Once I worked out what was the goal and what was the danger I had a good time playing! If the charge was a bit faster it might've worked a bit better, it was a little frustrating if I rolled into the black dots while trying to charge a jump.

Overall, nice idea and take on the foddian genre, and good work!

Developer(+1)

Thanks so much for the good feedback! I absolutely wanted the whole screen to be the paper, but I needed to write some custom camera code for that and ran out of time! Such is the nature of jam games :) The speed of rotation and charge was very deliberate, but yeah it can be super frustrating at times. I will play around with some different values for that to see if anything plays better!

This game is awsome, i love the design and music it ties the whole thing toghether very nicely. It is very fun to play and is an interesting take on the fodian genre. LOVE THIS GAME!

Developer

Thanks for playing! I tried my best to make everything feel cohesive, so thanks for noticing!

Very cool direction with the art! I would have liked to know how far along I was in the game, but otherwise I thought the mechanic worked very well and the pinball paddles are awesome!

Developer

Thanks for the feedback! The levels run from 'a.' to 'q.', which makes 16 levels. If I feel like it I may add levels up to 'z.' later.  Hope you had fun!

The artwork in this game is gorgeous, great decisions with the aesthetic!

Developer

Thank you so much! I'm really happy with how it turned out aesthetically so I'm glad you enjoyed it!

I like the hand-drawn art style and the concept, but I think a tutorial in the game would be nice. I think it's also probably too easy.

Developer

Didn't think I'd see someone say it was too easy haha! Thanks for playing!

Submitted(+1)

This is such a charming game. The decision to go with the hand drawn look really paid off. Controls are nice and crisp as well. Great job!

Developer

Thank you for the kind words! I'm really happy with it!

Submitted(+1)

I love the little ways you can gain mastery over the controls, like learning to time your charges to hover in the air.  The way you stay in the same position on the map when you die, allowing you to get comboed into going back several levels at once, is a really unique way to implement Foddian elements in a level based game. Great stuff!

Developer

Thanks so much! I was happy with how the pit system turned out overall, but it can be buggy at times. I'm really pleased with how it controls, glad you had fun!

I loved the hand drawn art style :)

I got softlocked :(

Developer (1 edit)

I know there were some weird collision glitches I didn't have time to work out, and I tried to work around all of them. the TAB button is supposed to reset you at the beginning of the current level, but maybe it didn't work for you? Thanks for playing regardless!

Submitted(+1)

I like your game's simple art style, it's really well executed and the visuals/audio/gameplay all feel very cohesive.  The gameplay sorta feels like a cross between a 2D platformer and a minigolf game, and it's a good combo.  Great work!

Developer(+1)

Thank you for playing! Despite having little art experience and having never worked with audio I spent a long time making sure everything felt like it fit together, so it means a lot to hear you say it felt cohesive! My initial idea for this game was a golf game so i'm glad that came across!

Submitted

Really love how the game looks, and also the addition of the pinball arm thing is super unique. I like it :D

Developer

Thanks for playing! The pinball flippers took a while to figure out and they sometimes break the game, but I leaned hard on them for the design of later levels so i'm glad you liked it!

Submitted(+1)

ooh I really like the hand drawn/piece of paper look its really simple but effective and feels nostalgic for some reason. Also just feels nice to play!

Developer(+1)

Thank you! I'm not primarily an artist so I wanted a simple style that I could easily build elaborate levels with, I think I subconsciously took inspiration from the old physics puzzle game 'Crayon Physics Deluxe'.

"I'm in a Math class but I need to get back home to design my game for Ludwig!"
This is the first thing I thought when looking at your game :D

Simple but really effective design. It's actually working at your advantage!

Good job on your submission! I enjoyed playing a lot ! I reached level "e" than got into a blackhole, and into another, and into another, bam... back to the beginning haha!

Developer

:) I didn't have any Math classes to attend but I did do some level design with irl pencil and paper because I was away from my computer! I'm glad to hear you enjoyed it! The consecutive pitfalls can definitely be brutal, I had trouble deciding in some places whether or not it was justified by the theme lol.
