I liked the aiming for the laser. The player movement was smooth, but I wish that the player could move a little bit faster and that the dash would last a bit longer. Sometimes I was forced to take damage because there were too many bullets in the way that I could not dash through them.

nice game becomes a bullet hell game after you get 100 points it seems goes from 0 to 100 fast and made things nice and interesting.
Got 283 score on first run. After 100 score or so, difficulty became competetive and fun to engage like touhou, character movement felt very tight and it was enjoyable overall. I wish it had difficulty select, so i wouldn't have to replay 1-100 score difficulty. Temperature being double edged sword (spend too much and you're outta dashes = accumulate too much and your laser is on cooldown) hands down deserves 5 star on originality.
Difficulty select is an interesting idea! To be honest the endless bullet hell mode was kind of a backup in case I didn't get to level design. But if I were to revamp it I would probably add enemy waves, new types/patterns, and varying difficulties like you said. Thanks for playing and the feedback, I really appreciate it.
The game was fairly fun and the aesthetic rocks, limiting the frequency of attacks with temperature is interesting as a limitation in the design. Ways I would imrpove this if it were a full game would be upgrades/downgrades popping up like in most breakout games, and maybe adding more variety to enemies. The music is also really good.
Thank you! My first couple projects were very gameplay-first but this time it turned out the exact opposite, I started with animation/character design/etc. Like you said, new bullet patterns/enemies will probably be the first thing I add, but the powerups are a good idea, maybe something that instantly cools you down, screen-wipe abilities, etc.
Really enjoyed the game's visuals and music, they convey the steampunk feel very well. The temperature mechanic on the laser is a very clever take on the theme. Some enemy variety would have been nice. I also found the choice of buttons a bit awkward. I would have preferred Dash on something else than Shift (maybe right mouse button).
I rather enjoyed the atmosphere of this game. The music and color palette is very good. I do wish there was a bit more enemy variety. The lazer mechanic is very good. Could maybe be a bit more hectic if you make the lazer fire forever and not only do you have to kill enemies but also cool yourself by shooting water bottles or something.
Thank you! I definitely considered quite a few variations between melee-based/ranged attacks and in the temperature system, but that's a new one. In the future it would be cool to have different levels where maybe one level your laser malfunctions and you have to do that like you said.
Definitely could use some more enemies, attack patterns, etc too.
Very fun to play, despite being so short. I played more rounds than I should have haha
One thing that I felt was weird is that the gifs on the itch page had a screenshake while using the laser, which iI think is a really great addition, but the game didnt have it. Maybe its on the windows build, I didnt try it so can't tell.
Great experience with a lot of polish, great game! looking forward to the full version!
I got to 148 haha. So does dashing reduce your heat faster than just walking around? It *seemed* like that was the case, and if so that was really creative! (And if not, it should! haha) The screen shake was really satisfying and the laser itself was a lot of fun to use. I honestly wish there was a power-up that would let you use it unrelentingly once in awhile because that's what you really wanna do when you have optic blasts is just VOOOOM with abandon.
Great concept and the art looks very nice. Really polished game. If I had to give a suggestion, it'd be to add a knockback effect when the player gets hit, as it's a bit hard to tell whether you've been hit or not. But this would be more nitpicking than anything else. It's a good game. Got 272 points.
Although the animation felt a bit chunky, the game play is very challenging and fun to play around with XD
Great idea and implementation - both on visual and gameplay side.
Some more features (like enemies/weapons/skills) would make the game much better, but it's a jam game, so time is a hard limiter.
This was really fun, I loved the character animations and the music was spot on. It got really difficult with time. I felt it was so impossible after a while to keep going when there was so many robots. I think adding like a rocket that you could shoot to destroy lot of robots but it would have a big cool down or something like that could be fun. Anyways it was really fun and my highscore is 281.
