Woo! Really cool, fun, and chaotic game!
Awesome concept similar to the Katamari roll and grow gameplay. Kennymari turns up the difficulty by challenging the player to avoid devastating meteor strikes. When struck by a meteor the player will either incur a minor setback to their progress, or spell disaster (and potential table flip) warranting a level restart if the player's size was too great to come back from.
Level design was well crafted and thought out. The size of objects around the map was well balanced allowing the player to fall victim to a meteor strike, but still be able to hit another area of the map and regain size quickly. The ramps are a unique challenge when trying to roll a giant ball up to the drop point to feed the worm.
Music is on point, and evolves in tempo and complexity as the game progresses. It gives a sense of urgency and danger to cue the player that they will need to proceed with swift caution in order to complete the game before suffering defeat by the hands of the meteor shower. I enjoyed the lighthearted melody and retro arcade vibe. Paired up well with the gameplay and style.
Kudos to the team for a job well done on this!
Really great take on Katamari Damacy I got to the size of over 600 and the had my poor blasted apart. Is it possible to get in the middle and beat the monster? Great game! Keep it up!
Thanks for playing! Size 600 is where things get weird.
You can indeed feed the monster! The tops of the each zone by the fences are where you feed him - roll your ball into the little zone and he'll vacuum your food away. We found out after putting everything together that > 600 meters is too chunky to get vacuumed, haha
Ah makes sense I was trying to add him to my ball rather than feed it.
This game was great thank you for making it
AH! I had a good momentum and nice size but got shot by a meteor or something and lost it all! :( lol I was waiting for someone to make this! :D
Nice work, I had a couple issues picking up some items but overall had some fun with it.
Nice work on the 3D scenary. Looks really good! Works really well with the theme too. Reminds me a couple games that i played in my childhood. Awesome work!
This is a cool game! It has a few issues - firstly, it's really hard to tell if you can collect an object or not. Maybe have the collectable objects in a different color, or make them blink a certain color? Also, the game looks kind of drab, because everything is a similar color, no real visual variety. You could cycle the colors of the skins for some of the environmental objects to liven things up. But the gameplay works really well and the physics are fun! And the worm spitting objects at you with the little target is a nice touch too, keeps it from getting boring. You did well! :D
This is so silly! But really great, I appreciate the main menu section with the options to set the volume. The game is simple, yet entertaining, of course the game needs some polishing, but that's expected in just two days.
Impressive work for a 2 day jam. Loads of fun to play.
The game that could make me rage (: LOL
I was thinking about doing something Katamari like. Nice idea and good implementation.
really nice idea, I enjoyed it pretty much!
I just love grabbing things and growing bigger. This was a really fun game.
I see you have added adaptive music, very cool stuff and very cool game! Also the worm really creeps me out(in a good way).
Gameplay is delightful.
The animation of worm is really good, wouldn't mind if there is power up that can player go berserk
Super fun!
If I had to describe this game using one word it would be smoooooth. I liked the anesthetic of the worm, the music was on point and the controls felt polished. Neat idea - well done.
Really enjoyed feeding my worm friend. For a 48 hour game jam this hit the mark! Good gameplay, music, and visuals!
