Some lovely design that helps pull the reader into the setting backed up by a compelling narrative.
I found a bug that prevented me to play to the end which is a shame because I really loved what I saw so far : great writing, great mood, and I do enjoy the little emojis next to the options, it's not much but conveys a lot.
The bug happened when I wame back to the bedroom with the broken windows after finding the phone, after talking to Lee. the description of the room was displayed on screen, but no option was available, i was just stuck here. I will probable play it again!
Ahhh dang. I'm going to go through after the jam and fix some issues. My biggest problem was overscoping (hah, ain't that always the case), and not leaving myself sufficient testing time. But thanks for playing!
Thanks again for this. I've been able to reproduce it (it's going to that bedroom three times) – I had an invisible fallback choice that used a * instead of a +! I'm working though a few other bugs, but plan to do an update with some of these annoying things fixed, hopefully this week.
I think this is my favourite of the jam games so far! The story is gripping, the little emojis by significant choices make it easy to determine their effects at a glance, and the soundtrack adds an extra layer of polish. I'm pretty amazed you managed to put this together in such a short space of time!
It's a really small point, but I love that having decided to watch Better Call Saul right at the beginning despite not really being into it, I later got the option of helping out because it's preferable to sitting at home trying to get into Ozark yet again.
I got stuck in Pri's bedroom unfortunately, but was very engaged. Kept thinking about: "The voice on the other end of the line is young – then again, all mortals sound young to you."
Ah, dang, more testing required! Thanks for playing, though. When the jam is over, I have a list of things to clean up so hopefully you'll be able to see the rest!
Thanks again for this. I've been able to reproduce the bug, and have fixed it (a * for a + on a fallback choice... of course it would be something so small). I'm doing some bug fixes and will update the game this week.
Really enjoyed this! The concept immediately got my attention, and the music added a lot to the atmosphere. Awesome stuff!
The battle scene felt a little buggy; but the story was totally engrossing, and I loved Penny as a character/narrator. I would totally play more stories in The Chronicles of Shaemora the Unrepentant!
Thanks so much! Yeah, I wish I'd left myself more time to test... well, everything but particularly that scene. When the jam is over, hopefully I'll have time to go back and patch everything up. Thanks for playing.
Interesting setting, good narration, fitting music - well done :D
Enjoyed exploring, would like to read more. Good music choice, too. :)
