This is such an interesting take on the theme.

The balance between bouncing the game within the circle and dealing with the enemies is so cool. It’s just challenging enough that I was always struggling but in a good way. It could be something fun to master.

Great job!

This game was a blast to play through.  Can definitely recommend playing on controller, the controls felt smooth even if I still swapped which character was left vs right in my brain sometimes.  About the only criticism I can think of is that I didn't feel very inclined to use the freeze ability over the fire ability since the fire seemed to kill most things immediately and the freeze wasn't super long.  But that's definitely a nitpick at most.  Great work!

this melted my brain lol. very original gameplay and the artwork is cute. I may have to try this again with a controller - it seems like that might be better than on the keyboard. nice work!

Very original game - a great experiment, which definitely made me say "Wow"! But... My brain hurts :D It's almost like playing Overcooked alone with 2 characters :D The aiming while rotating is already hard enough, but managing both characters is a bit over the edge for me... But that would be a totally cool 2-player game! I could easily imagine playing it with my gf, and shouting at each other for missing a ball :D

I also think the circle should be a bit larger, to have some more room for the ball to travel, to feel less overwhelmed. And some upgrades/progression would be cool if you decide to make it a full-fledged game. And I do think it would be even more fun with 2 players! :)

(I played with keyboard though, so maybe with controller it is less extreme :D)

Developer

Hi, thanks for trying out the game. Did you play with controller or keyboard?

Submitted(+1)

Just edited to reflect that - yep, keyboard. Controller might be better, but I didn't have a chance to get to it this week :(

Developer

Yeah keyboard we need to make it more fun. Right now it works really well with a controller. We tried our best to warn players playing it. It even has a splash screen recommending controller and on the webpage saying controller is recommended. Its a learning experience for me. Thanks for the feedback :3

I was actually was delaying trying to play the game until I have my hands on controller, but missed the chance so gave keyboard a go :)

But I do still think there might be a cool co-op 2 player opportunity here :)

Insanely cool game! Everything is just stellar — music, visuals, and of course the gameplay… just wow. While it wasn’t very enjoyable with keyboard inputs, this plays really well using a controller, and it stimulated my brain just right.

I encountered a weird issue (twice), where pressing A on my controller restarted the game and sent me back to wave 1. This happened once around wave 3, and once again on the final boss. I was almost at full health in the second case, so I’m pretty sure it wasn’t a “game over”. After this, I entirely stopped using A to avoid the issue.

Also, it seems like not all the UI actions are not bound for controllers. I was not able to navigate menus using the controller, except for pressing A to confirm.

Trying to come up with something to criticize about the gameplay, I think it got a bit too easy when I focused on keeping MAXIMUM POWER, and even after dropping the combo it was trivial to recover with the abilities. I’d absolutely love to see more of this, with more challenge and variation. But for a jam, this entry virtually perfect!

We're aware of this bug, and I'm sorry to hear this happened to you :( I would recommend just press A as little as possible during the game. If you need to heal, you can also press spacebar to avoid this.

We're planning on making a post-jam version that addresses this issue and some others, as well as some balancing (maybe new features too???). We'll look into the UI issue as well, thanks for pointing that out.

Thanks for the feedback and glad you enjoyed it despite the bugs!

A pretty unusual twinstick shooter-- I appreciate having a complete package with music, a final boss and everything.  It was fun.   Played it on a controller first and that was really sensitive compared to the keyboard.  Since it's a "paddle game" I expected them both to be fixed speed movement.

Very cool and unique concept, plus excellent polish all around. I agree with some others that it's much more natural to play on controller (and feels really good at that), but trickier on keyboard. Hard problem to solve! Nice job folks.

I always knew there are two persons in me and YOUR GAME IS THE EVIDENCE to proof that.

I can imagine playing this game with a friend is superb.

The idea and concept of the game is very great and unique. Nice tutorial and also the visuals and audio supported this game very well. Good job on this!

what the heck ? it's such a cool game ! the difficulty goes up to fast to my likings but that's really a subjective thing so it's not too bad. I really like the concept and the execution :) good one !

Wish I had a controller for this one. Really hard to control with the keyboard. I like the take on the theme to force the user to control two characters but again very difficult with the keyboard.

Made it to wave 3 but could not keep my controls in order, hopefully can try again later,

Thanks for submitting, very unique

It's too much to keep in mind, but it's fun! hahaha I get until the fourth wave, I think. Congrats!

Edit: The art is awesome!

With only one person it's really not easy at all, especially using the keyboard! But a great idea for a 2-player co-op game!

Very cool game i love it! I played it first on keyboard but it can't compare with a controller. It was really fun

Submitted(+1)

Cool game! interesting merge of game genre! it is really fun, well done! although for 1 player it feels a little bit overwhelming. I have to try it with 2 players. The game art is also pretty neat and polished! really well done!

Submitted(+1)

Very interesting and unique gameplay! It was a bit overwhelming for me playing it alone, so much to juggle! :D I bet this game can be a real fun couch co-op 2-player experience. Great work! :D

I never thought I'd see someone combine Pong with Bullet Hell but here we are. Very pretty art, loved the characters! The music is great too, reminds me of a certain Bullet Hell game series, haha.

The in-game tutorial is very understandable as well. While the game felt like it was made to be played on a controller, it could also be played by keyboard and that's also pretty neat. It also felt like the sort of game that can be played in many ways, like you can play it alone or grab a friend to play with you, and I like that about it.

There's a lot to like about this game, to put simply!

Submitted(+1)

Definitely the most unique gameplay, I liked it a lot, though half of the time I just put the two girls at the same spot because it was really hard to aim the bullets while trying to move them both around, I wonder whether something like bullets homing to the enemies would help

This was so good! I love the concept, it's incredibly unique. Took a while for me to get used to controlling both characters at the same time, but ended up kinda getting the hang of it. The controls are super intuative as well, and love that y'all included controller support. The music is also bangin', it gives off Touhou vibes! Had a blast playing this one!

Submitted(+2)

Had a lot of fun with this one. great use of the theme and the chosen wildcard.

Got confused at some points to which character I was controlling with the inputs would often move the wrong character when trying to aim.

It did get overwhelming with where to look, often found myself struggling to focus on both the enemies and the orb but that just added to the challenge and was satisfying when I was able to clear enemies and keep the orb bouncing.

Big props to the composer for the banger of a soundtrack, the music here goes hard! Though amazing work all around!

Developer(+2)

Thank you for playing, glad you enjoyed the game! Our goal was to create something that was borderline overwhelming but still relatively forgiving, so that’s great to know.

I’m glad you like my music, thank you so much for your kind words :D

Nice game - and music. Good job :)

Thank you for playing! Glad you like the music too :)
