This is an amazing concept! You did a great job, the sound effects are so satisfying and I loved the comic book intro! It really fits the theme of the jam well and really explores the psychology behind gerrymandering. I got all 5 endings (green landslide is super challenging), it was really fun to play and I could see this turning into a really engaging game with more time (I'd pay to play more levels of this, as a full game) but what you did was really good for the time limit :). Looking forward to seeing what comes next
Great comic book intro! Also, this is an excellent way to comment on what seems to be an important democracy issue in the US. The gameplay fits well into the theme and is also a fun puzzle game on it's own.
Very cool and educational idea. I really like the contrast of the cute artstyle and the story that gives off some serious cyberpunk vibes
Wow, I love this entry! The theme is absolutely spot on and gameplay is educational as well as fun. I would love to see a longer version with multiple levels, but on its own it fits the scope of the jam perfectly. I also was very delighted to hear the sound effects when selecting the districts; I thought that was a very smart touch.
Really good job! One of my favorites from the jam.
Thanks for playing!! We're planning on expanding it out with more levels and potentially more different challenges and ideas. Glad you enjoyed :)
I like the concept and the art style. I had a lot of fun.
Good job!
Great art style and sound design! definitely a unique and interesting take on the theme. Adding back in the ability to deselect tiles like others have mentioned would be a solid QoL improvement. Well done!
I think it's intended for you not to be able to deselect because it adds more pressure; you have to start over if you mess up. That and the time limit make a nice combo
Fun little puzzle game! The art style was really well done, and the moving-up-the-scale sound effects were really satisfying!
I would have love to have had an "undo" button, since the game is deterministic, to be able to more freely play with moving the district lines around.
Really well done!
Nice comic-book style intro. Enjoyed uncovering all 5 endings. The notes when picking districts were really satisfying.
Thank you !
Really good visuals!
Thanks for playing :)
I’m a fan of games that are fun AND educational–and gerrymandering is definitely something everyone should understand! Are the consequences of gerrymandering really unintended, though?
I wish I could deselect a tile by clicking on it again.
Well, unintended to our hapless protagonist ^^"
Yeah, a few people have said that regarding deselecting tiles. I actually programmed it in, then removed it with the idea that it'd be more challenging/require more precision, but I'm definitely considering adding it back and increasing the challenge in some other ways. Thanks for playing and giving feedback!
Boy oh boy I never expected to see a job simulator featuring gerrymandering, let alone have a great time playing a job simulator featuring gerrymandering! The worldbuilding was really great too, tons of charm! Great game, and a very cool puzzle!
Thanks for playing!!!
Very interesting game, well done. When I got to the last outcome, I figured it was either every district for one party, or failing the time mission, since both may be possible outcomes. Game decided for me which one it was 😂
Yeah, I'm like 95% sure it's impossible to have all to one party with the current layout. Thanks for playing!
I liked the Intro especially the comic style. also the home office worker and the characters of the pink and green political party. and the sounds while connecting the districts.
crazy that you took such a political approach, i guess most of the people are not familiar with this "often times bad" practice
Thanks for playing!

Very nice little puzzle game! I really wish there were more levels and more story to it to flatter the cool pixel art you got going on! Quick and fun game overall, good job to you two!
We're planning on adding more, the time limit was just tricky haha.
Thanks for playing!!!
Instructions unclear--still can't pay rent. (Loved this concept. Great job. Also awesome work on the introductory comics!)
oh no! you have incurred the wrath of Mr. Pickles :0 (thank you!)
Interesting and original game! I loved the graphics, especially the intro cutscene was fun, and the cat was cute. The characters and dialog was cool too. The audio was nice, I liked how the sound of selecting a district went up in pitch for each successively selected district. I think for accessibility reasons it could be nice to have forest green and pink be represented by symbols on the district triangles as well. All in all, very nice work!
Thank you so much !
Genuine question — I did actually make efforts to check that the green and pink were clearly distinct in grayscale and with all my laptops accessibility color filters. I'm new to this, so I was wondering if/why symbols would also be needed?
Thanks for playing!!!
I based it on this https://gameaccessibilityguidelines.com/ensure-no-essential-information-is-conve...
Namely "there are several other less common conditions that affect other colours ... - ... even achromatopsia, a very rare condition where you have no colour vision at al, and colourblindness acquired through brain/nerve damage, which can alter colours in very unpredictable ways, even swapping them around."
Alright, I'll take a closer look at that guideline stuff. Thank you for bringing it to my attention!!!
Super cool entry ! I loved all the visuals present in the game: the map, the story scenes and all characters are really pretty. The explanations are good and explains well what the game is about, I could get 3 different endings and am kinda wondering what were the two remainings (got Paint the town pink, the other equivalent of green and waited for the 2 minutes without submitting). Anyway super novel idea for the theme and really good execution. Great job !
Thank you! We wanted it to be challenging but not impossible to unlock all the endings. Paint the Town Pink is definitely my favorite ending haha
Hey, nice one!! Having a puzzle you can "solve" in a bunch of different ways to get different results is really neat! It's almost alarming how drastically you can swing the results both directions xD
The characters are lovably zany and their designs are great. Loaf the cat does nothing and still manages to be one of the best characters just by existing and I love the sheer power aura exuded by Mr. Pickles.
I was able to get all five endings and regret nothing >:D Congrats on the entry, it's super charming and fun all the way through!!
Thank you so much!! This is super encouraging because the sense that it's really easy to swing the results was one of the main goals I was trying to achieve. And also glad that someone likes the characters betrayalis designed almost as much as I do. Seastone is my personal fav!
I like that that the political message is part of the gameplay itself rather than just some story element skin with no connection to the game-play. Gerrymandering is the game itself. I wish there was an undo button to undo one move at a time rather than having to reset the entire map. Or better yet a way to remove a tile from one district
Thanks for the feedback! Interestingly we actually used to allow removing single precincts but decided to take away the functionality to add to the challenge. But I only commented out the code, so it might well come back haha
