Hello there, thank you for the kind comment! The game doesn't lack polish but rathers lack the main game loop, our artist did such amazing art that we really didn't want it to go to waste and so we chose to leave the debug options in for people to enjoy all the different outfits and different dialogue types! We started with 3 days late into the jam, with one more day we could have completed it, but time management certainly was our biggest issue!

Hehe I did want the last level to be a culmination of all the mechanics so I'm glad you enjoyed it! This is also my very first time coding enemy AI, initialy the enemies of weaker colours were supposed to flee from the player but due to time constraints I couldn't make it (that and it would require me to remake every puzzle again!)
Initially the enemy AI only killed you when moving away from you, but it didn't make sense to me that, if the player is weak to an enemy, that the enemy just lets them approach and doesn't do anything on their turn! I'm happy enough with how it turned out!
If I do get around updating the game I do intend on explaining that better in the tutorial levels, anyhow tysm for playing and for the descriptive feedback! :D
Normally it does reset you to the last safe state (which is the shadow puddle!) I know we had some issues with coding the checkpoint as some people pointed out in the comments the camera would sometimes pan back out of screen unfortunately!
We were not inspired by SCHiM in any way, but I'd love to give it a look! Thank you for your kind review! :)
Very fun and polished game! Loved the idea of a deck building where you're fighting cards instead of playing them (Although I do guess bribing a card is "playing" it, hehe)
Alot of thought went into this, the art both 2d and 3s is super cool, and whilst being different offers an overall very visually cohesive experience! I wish there was a way to see the token inventory other than having to take all the pieces out (maybe I just didn't see it) but other than that I really enjoyed this game! Really want to see an update of this game if it is in the plans!
Thank you for playing our game, and appreciate the feedback!
The controls were made a bit slippery by design, we thought a fish kinda moved a bit like this in water? At least we tried mimicking a movement that matched that of a fish in water and also to make the game a bit more challenging!
Glad you enjoyed the level design aspect of it, we had limited assets for the shadow casting so I'm glad it came out alright!
Anyhow thanks for playing the game!
PS: Try to get to the ending, I promise it's worth it! :)
Thanks for your feedback plex! At the beginning we were worried that the game would be too easy, so we made the fish slide the tiniest amount to give it like a... water-like inertia? Since it's like a fish but swimming in shadows. I do think the puzzle aspect of the game ended up being decent enough so we might redo the control scheme a little for a future version! :)
Very cool game idea, the ambience with the eerie but beautiful soundtrack coupled with retro pixelated 3d models It's retro-looking vibe adds alot to the uncanniness of this island... I could only get to setting up the shelter but could never set up the fire as it said "You need 0 more stones" even though I had 3 in my inventory! I really would like to give this game another try when the sticks and stones become easier to find!
Again, very cool ambiance, hope to see more from you guys! :D
Super fun game, a tower offence like rarely seen and that offers two game modes? Very ambitious but works nonetheless! The artstyle is very cute, although can someone please remove that plastic thing from that seagull?? D:
Music and sfxs are also very nice, the "yeays" really fit the whole beach/summer vibe!
Overall very nice game, there's such a huge possibility for future complex and fun levels that could be designed with all these different units and enemies!
Very cool game, super hard though, I wish there was some sort of difficulty setting!
The graphics were really cool and look very unique, and the music to match was great!
The mechanic of the sun light stunning the vampire was really well thought of and quite original :o
Overall I really did enjoy the game, but I'm sorry Don Pablo, I did not make it to the end :c
Cute little idle game. I know I've punched a tree in another pixelated game, but to think I'd punch down a prison wall!! :o
Anyhow, I wished I knew what mental resilience and running was about, but I got to the end anyways!
It's usually pretty hard to make an entertaining idle game, and this one definetely was!
Hope to see more from you guys in the future!
The artstyle is a bit hard to read and I wished the game was bit more zoomed it... But somehow there's an ambiance that you managed to get which did grab my attention! Shame the music didn't loop to accompagny me in this adventure. If you do consider an update a minimap would be perfect!
Overall nice game, I hope you'll get around polishing it post jam :)
Fun quick escape game! Loved the reference to metroid down to the level design (I saw the wall jump opportunity to skip a whole section at the start and I took it :D )
I do notice that there's a gun, but nothing to shoot at? I'm guessing it will be coming up in the next version!
I hope to see the updated version soon!
Fun gameplay, but even on the easy setting I felt like the sunrays were just chipping away at my life way too quickly. It was a bit frustrating not to know when the sun was going to shine, because as we know the sun is a deadly laser, but other than that fun game, cool little tutorial, and nice music to top it off! Very impressive for a solo project!
Thank you for playing the game haha! There wasn't an ending per se, I only had time to get the gameplay down and a few ritual patterns! The label bug happens only on first pickup but if you drop and hover over the crop again it will show the proper types! Thank you for the feedback and I hope to offer an even better experience in next jams! :)
Glad you enjoyed it! Unfortunately the music was a last minute implementation, it only plays once and doesn't loop again... Didn't have time to test that part of the game I'm afraid! Initially I wanted to have like a book that would tell you what to do but due to time constraints I had to make most of it fit on the title screen...
Fun game, I really liked the tetris piece mixed with gardening!
It took me a while to understand how to play the game since I didn't know if I had to water the crops or not (turned out I was just impatient!)
I also had a bit of hard time reading the font at the start of the game, but it also contributes to the identity of the game! Love it! :)
