Interesting and original idea. I generally liked this game. It's hard to use scanner in higher levels, because those shapes overlap, and because their texts overlap
Interesting take on the theme and unique gameplay. Some of the levels were challenging too. Thanks for submitting
Definitely felt the sensory overload! I like the difficultly scaling and appreciate the "how-to" guide at the start. Is there no way to transition to the next level from an existing complete level? Had to go back to the main menu each time.
I didn't have one, but that would have made a lot of sense!
Thanks for playing!
This is like some crazy Wheres Waldo Wario Ware game! Awesome. I love how much explanation there is with the tutorial and the difficulty ramp. made it easy to figure out whats going on amid the chaos.
Thank you! I appreciate you taking the time to play!
It definitely is a "Where's Waldo" souls-like! I have never felt so overwhelmed with the sensory overload of shapes and colors before me. Super original! Think my favorite part was the sense of reward I felt nearly completing each level. However, I couldn't beat that level with the lovers (not cut out to be a sniper I guess).
If I could give some feedback, I'd think the only thing would be about the art. I like the poppy geometric cartoon style of the characters, but noticed that the background didn't seem to have that same look. Would've been cool to see some goofy buildings with doors and windows that accommodate each character's bizarre body shape.
Regardless, fun game! Enjoyed the play!
Thank you for taking the time to play!
I have a tendency to make the games I make a little too challenging--living in the game for a week makes me too used to moving around and testing, which makes me incorrectly gauge a new player's experience, I think. I made all the creepy character art, so I appreciate that you liked that more than the generic open-source back image that I used! Next time, I'll consider making a simple background in my own style (though for time's sake, I always tell myself I'll lean MORE into already available assets--so who knows what might be best for the next idea).
Once again, thank you!
Glad you fixed the export issue because I like the game, I think the idea of interpreting the "overload" theme be sensory overload is great and I believe you executed it and integrated it really well
Me too! This game was a chance to learn how to navigate accessing folders and how to add images/shapes dynamically (which was new for me). The bug was very annoying, but it taught me two lessons:
1) Test your export more thoroughly than "yes, a main menu screen pops up, I should be good".
2) Files in res:// are much more easily accessible in the editor than after exporting (and for good reasons).
Thanks for playing!
Unfortunately, something seems to have gone wrong, and the levels have failed to present people to shoot at. When the timer runs out, I merely get a victory screen, best: 0. This appears to be present regardless of level chosen.
I would call this a game-breaking bug. If you can identify and fix, the admins can let that through for you.
Yup, it looks like the exports have an issue! Still, I appreciate you taking the time download and loading it up, I'll let you know if it get's fixed!
It has finally been fixed! Once again, thank you for commenting early in the jam to ensure I was aware of the bug. I learned a lot about how Godot changes file storage after export!
