So many pumpkins but they aren't lucky enough to have chain reaction...

It was fun even with the audio stuttering while playing HTML version of it, the background and its music sure give me a relax vibe. Although I can't zooming in and out the camera, thus it's hard to see the particular tile preview I want to place.

Seems like those goats are happy when there are some hay tiles connected with each other. They will progressively eat the next one when the turn "ends". :D

thanks for playing! Yeah, good feedback about the camera zoom. I think I’ll add that as a new feature. I hope you enjoyed!

It was at this moment, that I knew playing the browser version may have been the wrong choice. xD Really fun little game once you figure out how it works! It's got a really clean look. I like that the pumpkin vines clearly indicate the proceeding pumpkin. The map edge seemed to be a bit off towards the back of the map, I noticed.

All in all, kept me occupied longer than what may be considered reasonable. ^^

(EDIT: The point counter kind of gave out on me a few cycles back. I'll never know my score lol T-T)

Haha I know. The performance degrades on this version of the game. And believe it or not, it’s because of the scoring on the UI. I have a fix for it, but couldn’t change it for the jam submission. I’m happy you played it for so long still D4yz! If you want to play the patched version with less bugs, I’ll be posting it right after the jam voting period ends.

I had a relaxing time playing this game. The 3d models did help give it a relaxing vibe.

I wasn't exactly sure how the goats and the hay worked so I just joined them together in the hopes that something happened.

Developer

Nice! I'm glad you just tried that out, that's how it should be. When goats eat hay, they move to the hay spot's spot. So you can keep the goat moving if they already have hay to eat next to them. Thank you for playing.

So relaxing and chill.  I love being cheered on by the goats.

Developer

Thanks Oeslian. The goats thank you too!

WOW, love the vibe of the game, and the music!

Thanks for the kind words Rafilly.

Interesting game! At first I wasn't entirely sure what I should be doing, until I realized there was a lot of useful info on the pause screen. Guess I should have read the instructions.

Developer

thanks for playing Nisovin!  I think I need to put more context in front of the player when they first load into the game. I didn’t want too many instructions… but maybe I needed it :)

Hey! I saw the thumbnail, saw it was an Urodela game and was very happy! I really liked playing the game. I'm not sure what a normal score is but I got 1909... I think for me personally the board is a bit too large, I also had no indication on when the game would end, or at all... And some mechanics seemed unexplained, like the goat, or the pumpkin growth (except for scoring).

Making the board smaller would make it easier to iterate over a solution, get to that high score quicker, and focus on trying new tactics. If you make a "Quick Place" mode with a smaller grid, like 6x6 instead of 10x10, I'd love to try that out :D

Developer

Willow! Hello! I have bad news to tell you… I didn’t use the Godot icon this time :(.

Your feedback is really spot on. All of these have been on my mind and I think I need to change them. The board size is one of them, the game gets exhausting because of it too. I think as for mechanics instructions and indications, I either need to add more to the tutorial text or add much more indicators in game. Thank you for playing!

I found myself coming back to this game to play some more and I totally agree about the board size. With regards to your score,  @urodelagames, perhaps you could give a star rating in addition to the score number so I can tell what par is? Just a thought :)

A very relaxing and chill game you made. It has kept my attention for a long time which says a lot for game jam games. Good work.

Developer

thank you. I was definitely going for relaxing. I’m happy you enjoyed it!

I really enjoy playing this game, this is a solid tile matching game. I could easily imagine a multiplayer version of this which would be quite fun. I feel the theme is a bit missing since the growth is pretty controlled. Aside from that a very solid tile laying solo board game XD

Developer

ha, good point about the theme. I tried to make it so that the pumpkins “had to grow uncontrollably”. But I think you’re right. I’m happy you enjoyed it!
