Thanks for playing it and leaving some feedback! We definitely want to work on making it more intuitive to understand, and add more visual feedback to things. For the pixel art I essentially expanded upon a small asset pack and interpolated the style where I could to create the characters and other elements.
I really enjoyed buying and selling items, though I felt a bit lost about the time passing. I almost beat the boss once and the day passed. Good job! Had fun
The music and graphics were amazing, the gameplay was a bit comfusing at first, but you get used to it after playing for a while. Great game!
Great take on the theme! Graphics are great! It's really nice to see your heroes progress through the dungeon.
On the downsides: game window is too big for the browser page, music is quite repetitive, turns are pretty long and economics are very intuitive. But these are small things that could be easily polished if not the time constraints, I believe.
Yeah, some of those issues are definitely things we wanted to polish, but ran up against the time limit. There is one thing that we missed though. I think the UI looks like part of the game is cut off, but in reality it’s just meant to sit at the bottom out of the way. I think redesigning it to not look cut off is a good start for some post jam polish!
Thanks for playing, and thank you for the feedback :D
Hey there,
Really did a good use on the theme here.
My only concerns are that the screen size is cut, its not displaying its full view. Then a little bit of instruction maybe, was guessing what ill do next.
Great job on the submission, Cheers!!!
Hey, glad you like it. Thanks for playing and leaving some feedback. This sort of stuff is invaluable :)
I’m seeing a lot of comments about the screen size being cut and I’m wondering if that’s just due to bad placement of the UI elements when they are not raised up. I certainly learned a lot about Godot UI stuff this jam though!
Thanks!
Oh hey, you're the person that posted that super charming shopkeep gif in the discord a few days ago! You're really underselling yourselves with your thumbnail and game page, your artstyle is phenomenal and that low-res snippet is completely failing to sell that fact!
It took me a few minutes to figure out exactly what I was doing in your game, and for that purpose some sort of onboarding process with some dialog about what's going on could be helpful. Once I got going though, I found myself in a pretty satisfying flow state with your game.
Well done!
Thank you for playing, and for the kind words! The art is from an asset pack, but some of the assets were altered to fit our needs. @84d93r was dealing with all the art, and he did a really good job designing the visuals.
Some kind of tutorial is just another feature we didn't get time to add. I tried to explain the best I could in the Game Page description. We're glad you stuck with it though, and ended up enjoying it!
Very charming game. Could use some controls that allow you to speed up game time, and/or ensure that each hero is able to purchase a weapon first round. It feels very bad to have to send a hero out with no weapon, and considering they are full health it also takes long for them to get out of the dungeon.
