Completed the game!. It was fun. Love the background. it has a good feel to it. I wish it had more levels.  Other than that. well done!

Hi Baan, thanks for playing the game. I’m glad that you enjoyed it - and that you completed it.

I love the art style, the animations, the parallax background and foreground. This works really well. However, I think the gameplay is too simple, you can jump over everything and then kill the cat without dodging anything. It would have been nice if the green balls were making more damage and if we had to kill the first enemies.

Nice visuals! The combat was a bit lacklustre. I couldn't tell if I was even dealing damage to the first spider person or not. The final combat with the witch was made easier by the fact that the spider people were blocked by the platform from coming over and attacking you. Looks great though and the music choice is good too.

The Art was really really nice! Though I might suggest to polish it a bit. For some reason the game felt a bit bland, like there's some game juice missing. But I can't point out exactly why.

Hi Nochless, thanks for playing the game and for your feedback.

I’m glad that you liked the artwork. I think that you’re correct that there’ some feedback and game juice elements missing; I had implemented screen shake, the player flashing when they take damage and iframes, but I wasn’t 100% happy with it and ran out of time. Similarly with some SFX that were created, but are missing. I’ll definitely have to focus more on that next time.

The aesthetics and art were awesome! I was terribly bad at kicking the ants haha, took me a while to figure out how to kill them. In the end, I defended the candy town!

Yaay! Candy Town lives to see another day :D

I liked the graphics and colors, very well drawn. The running is a bit too fast but it's a nice game I enjoyed playing it.

I made it to the end!  I noticed that it's easy to kick the ants in the butt.  The characters are very well drawn and the bubblegum look is great.  I love that mouse with the witch!  It's just the controls that need a bit more tinkering.

Developer

Thanks! <3

Hi Eplis, thanks for playing the game - and for your feedback. I’m glad to hear that you made it to the end of the game.

Thanks for letting us know that the controls could use some improvements. So that I can try and remedy the problem (and generally improve as a game developer), would be able to give me a little more specific feedback about why the controls didn’t feel great - maybe what could have been tinkered with to improve them?

The only control issue is with the kick function.  Like if you want to make a quick move after kicking.  I hope that helps.

Developer

Thanks for taking the time to respond. That definitely helps - I made the design decision not to add the ability to interrupt the kick attack once it was initiated and it seems like it wasn’t the correct decision.

I appreciate your feedback, it’s a useful lesson to learn about character control design - and what not to do!

Candyland meets She-Ra! I love the character design in this game but the control is clunky for me. Overall, really nice game.

All you ant-y gals with your crawly pals,
Better scoot, better scoot, out scoot my boot

The art and theme going on here are both really cool. Like Borza said, the controls feel a little stiff but I had a very similar issue with my game that I just didn't have enough time to patch so I think I get what's going on here. I found that the best strategy for every fight was to avoid as many enemies as possible. So the run I beat it, I just made a beeline for the witch and kicked her til I defeated her. Idk if this is something you want to encourage or not, depending on the feel of the rest of the game.

Thank you! :D

Hi HeroRobb, thank you for playing our game and for taking the time to leave some really useful feedback. You’re right, the boss level design as it is does encourage just standing close to the witch and kicking frantically - and that’s not really what I had hoped for in designing the level, but as I ran out of time that became the compromise. I definitely think it’s an area that has room for improvement.

Very nice art!

Unfortunately, the animation cycle was a little stiff. The control feels broken, unresponsive. This probably has to do with them waiting for the end of the anim, not allowing for a quick change of action (If I started to do a kick, but suddenly I want to jump quickly to react t the ant-woman, it doesn't allow me).

Developer

Thank you for the feedback <3

Hi ItsBorza, thanks for playing our game. I really appreciate you taking the time to provide detailed feedback about the controls, it’s really helpful in understanding how the game could be improved - and how I can improve as a game designer.
