I liked the presentation, and I love the die customization! Though it seems like the only winning strategy is to stand in front of the enemy and attack, since their attack patterns are random and unpredictable. For a jam game, though, this doesn't matter too much--it is an impressive submission!
Cool idea with great art. Adding more spells would make this even better.
Very cool. Just needs some hit feedback for the juice!
Have you considered maybe showing what the enemy will do next for some strategic positioning while also praying to RNG to get the good attacks? Just a thought I had while playing. :D
The art and gameplay are really great... Nice work!
A very interesting idea! Would love the game to have more sound effects and not just background music. Hitting [ESC] immediately closes the game, but my first instinct to close the shop was to hit [ECS], which made me a bit sad :D There also seems to be a bug - your inventory (but not the chosen dice) gets reset after death, so e.g. there’s a 1x3 strip available from the start which you can put on your dice, and after your death you get another one in your inventory AND another one is still present on the dice. Anyway, even without this glitch I’ve managed to buy 5 such strips which made it possible to win almost all the fights by just clicking roll all the time!
Overall, a decent idea that needs some balancing and polishing, good job!
interesting idea ! but fights should be more balanced :)
Pretty interesting idea!
Nice :)
thx
Very fun ideia! Really dig this, tho indicating that speels deals more damage and not only changing the tiles they hit would be a lot clearer.
thanks for the feedback, this is a solid point. too bad the sleep deprived team (me and null) did not think of this.

Really enjoyed this one, although prttey sure i cracked the meta and got practically invincible xd, but getting there was really fun.
thanks for the feedback, the game should play like that, once you get the enemy attacks down you should be able to dodge everything. there were plans to make more enemies and have a random 3 of them appear, but since this is a game-jam we didn't have the time to make more.

Very solid UI. This is a really creative take on the theme and its executed super well, but I have a few irks design-wise:
Just walking straight forward with a die full of the default 1-tile spell seems to be a preferable strategy to upgrading your die at all. The only downside is that you have to spend 1 more turn with moving to be in range, but then you consistently hit the enemy. I don't see the point of the upgraded spells at all, since you only fight one enemy at a time (so covering more tiles is pointless). There is also no indication of what the enemy will do so you may react to it.
Still, very interesting game. I like the concept a lot
the single spell is consistent, however it deals (or at least should deal) 50%-66% less damage. also Im pretty sure it is impossible to beat the eye with just that spell as it can kill you before you kill it (unless i forgot i nerfed it)

Oh, alright then. My bad. Would've been neat to have damage numbers visible on the spells though.
Excellent art style and concept! I would have love a bit more feedback during the fight, and also I did quit the game unintentionally as I pressed escape to quit the menu 😅
Nice entry, good job!
thanks for the feedback, there was the idea to show players the monster's dice (each monster has 2-4 attacks which fill its die, they attack in the same manner the player does) but at the end we didn't implement it. as for the escape button nuking the game, I also happened to nuke the game about 5 times during play-testing but I guess I forgot to include a warning in the tutorial

love the art! And the game concept has good potential, but I wish the enemies telegraphed attacks a little better, it felt like surviving was luck and not skill.

Super solid work, I love the system for designing your attack die, it make for really interesting and dynamique battle strategy
Very solid game. Cool use of the die theme, I liked how positioning was super important, and stacking your die with the same spell minimizes the dependance on luck. The music and art were very good and I'm impressed this game was made in 48 hours.
tbh, a lack of sleep and a lil luck myself, but thx
