Good fun, I enjoyed playing, the music is great and really ties in the levels. Although I did find it a bit long towards the end. & also wonder if on the boss level whether you can roll a negative trait like slow movement; which I feel would make the boss impossible.

Developer

its actually impossible to get the crippled trait in the final boss, I made sure of it haha 😅. Glad you enjoyed the game!

i like how your roll changes the way you play (but hit and run is still the best strat lol). i may have found a way to cheese the boss haha but anyway, good job!

Developer (1 edit) (+1)

Hit and run was the intended way haha, good job winning! Thank you!

Cool game! It's really fun to play and the mechanics are cool. But maybe that healing only by walking is to op

Nice game, it's nice to have to deal to each level with random effet! Though I wished levels were a bit shorter, I ended up with grappling death trait in a big level and it took me so many clicks to get out ^^

nostalgic. The music sync up is brilliant.

Reminds me a lot of Pokémon Mystery Dungeon and Shiren The Wanderer, super fun even if there were a few issues when playing it in my browser. Nice job!!!

Developer

Thanks for the kind comment! Yes, Shiren the Wanderer was my inspiration to do this game, in addition to fire-emblem.

I assume you're from the Mystery Dungeon Reddit? Thanks for coming to check my game out! :D

I really wanted to hear the Musenet music, but the audio wasn't working for me!

Developer

Dang really? Did it not work in the web version or the EXE ?

Submitted(+1)

The web version. I've had issues before with audio in the Web export, so it may be an issue with that.

Developer

Thanks for the feedback, ill take note of that for when I update this game!

That was incredibly enjoyable! I loved the idea that each level is different simply because of your dice rolls. If I was blessed with a good dice roll, I could breeze through the level, but if I had a bad one, a lot more strategy was required. I do wish there was a health bar, and I got stuck at one point simply because there was one enemy who kept taking 0 damage in the second level, but other than that, this might be my favorite game out of the jam so far!

Developer

Yeaaah, I definitely should have made the minimum damage at least 1 haha. Thanks for checking the game out! I really appreciate it.

Quite an enjoyable experience! Different initial dice rolls lead to different play-styles: Whenever I got the frail acrobat, I just ended up zooming about. The high-damage one made me kite all the enemies and the crippled movement one forced me to fight them fairly. The AI of the end boss was a bit funny and I ended up just kiting him indefinitly. Nice idea and nice implementation, could definetly be expanded on!

This was so cute to play!

I think having a health bar above enemies would help in seeing how far along you are to defeating them.

Final boss was a bit tedious since it was pretty tanky, I'm wondering if you could implement some sort of ability for the character that can help defeat the boss (any maybe other enemies) quicker. Maybe have other dice spawn on the map that could give the character could roll for a one-time/two-time/three-time ability power. For example, a spawned die has three sides for plasma blast -- one side with one purple blast to mean one-time shot, one side with two purple blasts to mean two shots, and a third side with three purple blasts. Repeat the same on the final three sides of the die but for a fire ball ability. (Obviously this is an example and you could mix&match abilities and # shots a side gives assuming you go down this route)

Overall I enjoyed playing through this :)

Developer

Thank YOU so much for the nice comment!

I was originally planning on adding an ability / item system akin to the Pokemon Mystery Dungeon games but the time constraints got to me haha. I will definitely take note of the ability die mechanic for when I come back to this game post game-jam! Perhaps I could have ability dies with different abilities on their faces that can be found in the world and equipped. So many possibilities!

Good music and overall presentation. I believe the camera could be a little more zoomed out to plan my strategy.

Developer

Thank you for the comment! I will make to note that for when I update the game post game-jam!
