Cool concept! I really liked the pixel-art and the variety of power-up!

However I faced one main issue: there are too many dices! :p Since letting one fall makes you take damage, I was constantly spamming the S key, and could never really use any ability or even just focusing on what's on the screen. Especially once enemies come from behind, it's hard to really examine the situation. My brain was also too overloaded to switch properly between dices. So I couldn't get very far, most of the times I let too many dices fall, or I focused too much on them and got killed. At least I think I killed the octopus once!

It was still fun to play. I like the core mechanic, the power-ups were fun to discover, and if it wasn't for the dices the patterns seemed pretty balanced. It might need just a small adjustment to make the idea work just fine. Good job overall!

thanks for the thoughtful feedback!

Nice little space shooter game! Getting random abilities makes the combat really interesting. The abilities are cool and satisfying to use! Having more than one at a time was fun but could be hard to actually use in combat.

Pretty good and classic little game. But the jellyfish actually attacked me from behind!

Also, if you have time, I hope you can come and play our game.

Developer

i'll play your game right now :)

Fun little game, that octopus got was coming to them. I may or may not have taken too much time to figure out the arrow keys move my spaceship 😁 but we got there in the end.

The concept is a bit confusing and hard to grasp at first, but it is fun and challenging. I love the pixel aesthetics and old arcade style :D

Developer(+1)

imagine how hard it was to grasp before i added the tutorial :p glad you like the style of the game though!

Really nice game. But waaaay too hard too early. I'm spamming buttons without a clue what I'm doing.

BUT... I love the fact you used the TIC-80. I'm trying to get my Pico-8 skills up. The presentation on this is really clean. I just wish the instructions and gameplay were a bit cleaner.

Best game I've rated so far today though. Good job !

tutorial a bit confusing (i tried to press S when it told me to but couldn't), but otherwise great game. especially the rolling sound effect

Developer

sorry about that, i didn't mean for the message about pressing S to be misleading. but glad that you liked the game!

I love the way how the game looks like! but hints could be shorter :)

For me it's a bit overwhelming, I just cannot focus on the dice too, so I just end up randomly mashing the S key not to lose health... And so I ended up getting random power ups by chance.

If it has an end, then I definitely couldn't reach it, but it's a lot of fun. Might end up trying to get a new highscore.

Developer (1 edit)

there's no end, you just play for high scores (travelled distance, shown in the game over screen). glad you thought it was fun.

Clever idea and implementation. Art and sound were good as well. Only comments are that the flashing text is a bit hard to read. Also, allowing the player to hide/skip the tutorial on subsequent runs would be nice. Great work otherwise!

Very nice idea! And great presentation!

I like how you can have multiple different powerups at once and have to quickly decide which to replace or use. I thinks it's a little too difficult because you have to think so fast, but maybe I'm just not very good XD. Art and music are very good also.

Really great job!!

Very hard (like most of your games) yet very good!
