Cool and hard game, well made

Submitted(+1)

I like the artstyle and overall look of the game, it's really cozy. But as other people said, it's quite hard to find correct combinations, because of amount of variables (even I was noting some of them down) in it. I would think of some more clues?

Anyway, good job with the game, I like this type of the "puzzles" and spent a little, trying to find the correct one :D

Developer

Thanks for playing! Since it is possible to check back previous plants, and with the hint system, I didn’t think adding more clues was necessary – I think the real issue is the lack of proper tutorial. From what I’ve played myself and seen from other players, it’s rather easy to win once you understand the process. This should get better in the next releases – and I hope that you’ll check the game out again then c:

Great, little game. Feeling like a scientist, trying to uncover new species :D Insights were also really helpful. Good job!

Developer

Thanks a lot!

This is a really neat idea! It was fun trying to figure everything out and it was really satisfying to eventually get the right answer. I was initially a bit frustrated by the (apparent ?) lack of an ability to check previous recipes but I honestly think it added to the game in the end. It was an enjoyable challenge trying to remember what I had and hadn't tried already. Great job!

Developer

Thanks for playing! Woah, no there is a way to check previous plants, just click on them – it’s written in the “How to play” section of the description :’D But glad you had a good time anyway xD

Submitted(+1)

Oh, I didn't realize it highlighted the previous recipe as well! I thought it just showed the insight gained. That's my bad.

Developer(+1)

No worries! I really shouldn’t have greyed out the buttons for previous plants, it’s hard to see right now. I’d say it’s more my bad c’:

The art looks phenomenal, and gameplay-wise, there is certainly something here. Though in its current state, it's a bit hard to wrap your head around since there are so many variables, and every time, you have to look at your previous attempts and then reselect those same things except for 1-2 differences. The insight system is also quite hard to understand currently. It would be great if the buttons for the incorrect variables got crossed out for that plant.

Congratulations, looking forward to the full release!

Developer(+1)

Thanks for playing, and for the feedback! Will keep that in mind for the final release, there’s definitely a lot of polish and QOL features to add.

try, try again! fun concept.

Love this interpretation of theme. Great artwork, and I think some music could've really made for some awesome  vibes. There's something quite cozy about this game, but like some of the other players, I struggled a bit with the gameplay loop. I wonder if there's a way to give players more of a hint before they create the plant? Just thinking out loud. This is an awesome game though! Nicely done!

Developer

Thanks for playing! In fact, not knowing which ingredients to choose at first it the point. The idea is that, if you never try, you’ll never progress. The game will never punish you for failing, it encourages you to do so. Failing is part of the learning process – and not the end of the loop!

Submitted(+1)

Interesting concept that needs a bit of polishing. The art is beautiful, I’d love to see more plants. Congrats for your entry!

Developer

Thanks for playing! Yep, a final release is planned (with no more new mechanics though, only polish, adding menus etc). Hope you’ll check it out eventually :D

Submitted(+1)

I like the idea behind it! Seems pretty hard but I'm sure I was just pretty unlucky haha

Developer

Thanks for playing! Yes right now the hints are random so you could get the same hint over and over, technically – will be working on that c’:

An interesting take on the concept of trial and error! I liked the different plant art, but after several attempts I didn't manage to get a success result before I probably broke the game with one too many attempts. I'd like to see this as a more mature concept, though! The plant art is brilliant, and the little animations give it lots of flair!

Developer(+1)

Thanks for playing! Yep that’s something that happens seemingly randomly :/ Sometimes I can win several rounds in a row no problem, sometimes the game breaks on the first attempt. Refreshing the page may help. Sorry for the inconveniences and I hope you’ll check back once I improve the game^^

Super neat   plant artwork!!!   Good luck   with   the games   development   post-jam ^^

Developer

Thank you for your words and for playing :D

It's interesting, but for some reason it's hard for me to repeat what's in the picture, although I experimented with one plant, I liked the drawing, as well as the idea itself, it's a pity that there are no sounds, it would be even better, but the theme matches the gamejam, so it's not bad

Developer(+1)

Thanks for playing! I will definitely make it better and add sounds after the jam, hope you’ll check it out again then!

Hello fellow plant game jammer! This is a fun game with nice art, it is almost like a memory game trying to track down the correct process. I am confused on what the phase 2 water amount is though, I only see a water amount for phase 1?

Developer(+1)

Thanks for playing! Actually each phase has a separate recipe but using the same buttons. So you can choose the water amount for phase 1, and choose another amount for phase 2 (using the same buttons) and it will have different effects. It’s one of the things I wish I could properly explain in-game but I didn’t have the time, I will definitely add an interactive tutorial after the jam.

Submitted(+1)

The art is very nice! It is a bit tough to play without any music or sfx. Consider adding any free asset when you get a chance to make it more full experience. Nice jamming!

Developer

Thanks! Yes I actually had my sister hunt for sfx and she found really great ones, I just didn’t have the time to add them unfortunately. Will definitely do after the jam ends! Thanks for playing :D

Submitted(+1)

had to read through the description to understand that some things hadnt been implemented, I love these, decode the solution through trail and error type games, I just wish there were more visual feedback to confirm my inputs, but this was addressed already by the dev. cool game!

Developer(+1)

Thanks for playing, and I hope you’ll check back once I get those issues fixed :D

Submitted(+1)

Cool concept and amazing art. A tutorial would definitely make it easier to understand.

Developer

Thanks for playing! Will most likely be adding that after the jam c:

Submitted(+1)

I loved the concept! It looking the same but still has a little difference was a bit frustrating.

Developer

Thanks for playing! Once the jam voting ends I’ll be sure to rework the visual system to make it consistent and more diverse, and also to follow the ingredients chosen more logically!

Submitted(+1)

Crazy artwork and system. Hope to see final version!

Submitted(+1)

Really creative.! Nice one!

Submitted(+1)

That was quite a creative concept. i think that the aspect of testing should be shorter with less options i guess to make it more valiable and more fun right away )

Developer

Thanks! Yeah, it does need a sort of interactive “tutorial level” with less options just to get familiar with how things work. Hope to add that after the jam. Thanks for playing!
