the environment and overall visual theming was actually really cool!! it's very cool to see a jam game lean this far into creating a really interesting world and a cohesive story to go with it, and it had me really interested (kind of like how I felt playing Outer Wilds lol, i see the inspiration!!)

I immediately got the zelda and general exploration vibes which I think you were going for. Though it was cool to walk around, find hearts in the grass and battle red froggies I thought the world was a bit too large which made it feel a bit empty in general. I assume there was content planned to fill up various areas. But overall it was an engaging experience with lovely art direction and cool retro audio. Good job!
I'm here because the character and gameplay so fun.
If possible, can you please rate my game and leave a comment too?
Managed to get two of the items, but then I got stuck on a ledge :(
It's a really cool world, though! I like the old-school Zelda vibe.
Honestly very fun despite it being a bit buggy. I loved the art style, and I liked the metroidvania mechanics.
The grapple was a super cool ability to unlock. I also really liked the story and felt like the world had a real vibe going for it. The sound design was very satisfying. It was never hard to figure out what to do because the art was super clear, and in general everything that needed to feel good felt good.
As for feedback, (ignoring the bugs because it is clear you were aware of them, and none of them were particularly significant) I think the time/traversal required between the items might be a tad too long. Like I get that they need to be longer to add tension with the timer but both might have benefited from being slightly shorter.
Overall really cool game. I played all the way to the end because i found it solidly engaging.
Fantastic work.
Yea, the original idea was to have a shorter timer with the angel statues acting as fast travel between four major areas, but I couldn't get the fast travel done in time, or the dungeons that were going to contain the items, but I really do agree and that's 100% how I would design things if I had more time. Thank you!
Awesome game, reminded me a lot of the old Zelda games, loved the sound effect when finding an new item and the visuals are really great and I liked finding new items to proceed through the game.
A fun zelda-like with some nice tunes! Visual distinction between what was walkable vs what wasn't was not always clear.
i loved the art of this game, my friends and I made a blue/orange type game several james ago called Barvest! I liked how you made a adventure game for this jam
Honestly, pretty fun little adventurer/RPG kinda game. Really liked the vibes of playing a classic, retro top-down Zelda-like game, and I do think this is a really well made game for the time constraints. I also do see why you mentioned a few of the areas being a tad buggy, wound up stuck in a wall at one point.
Love the art! Both the pixel art and non pixel art. It really does feel like the older topdown Zelda games. Very cool :D
Super super cool submission, I absolutely love the eerie vibes here. The concept art in the credits was super cute! I didn't really interact with the loop mechanic much as I tended to die and warp back to the start before the timer ever ran out, but I did enjoy the other mechanics, especially the hookshot puzzles.
Really enjoyed this one. The art is amazing, the story is intriguing and the gameplay is simple but fun. It took me way too long to figure out I should be cutting grass regularly to recuperate my health. I was dying a lot and that made the game a little repetitive for me. Maybe it could be less frustrating if the enemies didn't respawn, or if there were a few checkpoints along the way? Other than that just really solid jam game.
I adore the art and style of this! Love me a classic zelda style game <3
Nice gameplay and interpretation of the theme! I like the art style and the different tools you can find. I ran into a bug where I was stuck in the wall due to the enemies bumping me into there while I was falling down into a chasm. Other than that, great job!
