How does your game fit the theme?
In many ways! First of all: If you stretch the definition of "loop" a little bit, every single item that you're selling in the game is related to loops, especially, the most powerful item in the game (for strategy), Ouroboros. The game also fits the theme through its main character, story and theme. A man working a corporate job he hates for the rest of eternity, surrounded by different versions of himself from different times of his life.

I managed to sell all the items but didn't get all of them (that last clock was tough!). This was really cool and creative!

Very creative and fun narrative!

Great narrative and such an original idea, love it! I had a blast during the playtime and even restarted it to get the last girl the item she actually needed! Though the hypnosis scenes do feel kinda forced, I still enjoyed even that. Amazing job!

There is a quirky, dark charm to this game that took me by surprise, in a good way. The text audio was a little on the loud side compared to the music, and the watch minigame broke up the action in my opinion. But there is a real character to it that I enjoyed.

hypnosis pendulum physics seems weird but I loved the universe of the game, I WANT the ouroboros

Developer

I'll ask Chris to hook you up!

Loved the creativity in this idea! Follow the watch is hard, anyway I like the game mechanics.

I like hypnosis as much as the next guy, but please remove that minigame this game would easily get 5 across the board withoutt itt

Loved the story and artwork here. Loved the characters too! I think I played the last hypnotizing minigame maybe 30 times just to beat it and now my wrist hurts so I was a little sad when the end screen was just the guy floating in the void. Still 5 stars on creativity. I had a lot of fun and got really invested in my sales pitches :)

How much for the stopwatch, eh?

Really enjoyed the vibe and the story and how unconventional it seems.

I love the thought put into the story but I'm having a hard time seeing the "loop" theme

Please refer to the reply I gave to another creator below about this question.

Nice game! I tried to get past the stopwatch but it's very hard :(

I liked the narrative and creative items, but found the last watch minigame impossible (and the mouse hard to see over the watch and background), which is a bis frustrating.
In my opinion, the music and background get a bit hard to listen to / look at over time.

I'm sorry to hear about your experience.

Most of these issues did not occur to me during my hours of game-testing. Although, I did nerf the difficulty of the last level two times, but it appears that was still not enough for some. I only intended it to be difficult enough to lead to a failure or two, but some people can't get past it at all.

Will be making a note of this for my next game jam, as this was my very first one.
Cheers!

nice narrative! I wish it was easier to follow the watch with the mouse lol

I actually played this game twice just to see if selling the right item to the right person would make any difference
I really liked the goofiness of the story
Tho i sadly don't see how it fits the theme...

Thank you for your review! I hope that both your playthroughs of my game were enjoyable, because I really enjoyed your game myself.

The game fits the theme because all items that you sell are in some way linked with the concept of a loop:
A 3-dimensional representation of a Tesseract is a cube within a cube, something I consider a loop (Look up tesseract animation for reference).
Infinite Staircase is a looping staircase that never finishes, looping and always going in the same direction.
Time machine allows you to go backwards in time and then wait until the present moment hits again (so a time loop).
Untouchable orb touches on (no pun intended) the concept of Xeno's paradox, an infinitely repeating pattern that gets small the closer you get to the target (so a loop).
And Ouroboros is the most obvious loop, a snake eating its own tail. What it does though is the inverse of its philosophical meaning (it lets you avoid faith because Ouroboros represents the idea of repeating the same thing over and over again).

Additionally, the world Chris is from has many looping patterns and the life that Chris lives is also essentially a loop (having to do the same thing every day over and over again).

The initial idea for this project was "a guy that goes door to door selling loops to people", so as you can see I really took the creative liberty that the jam gave me!

Hope that covers your confusion and again thanks for the review!

I really enjoyed the subtle interpretation of the theme here into a genuinely creative and funny narrative experience. the presentation and systems put me into the shoes of the character in an effective way, and I really enjoyed figuring out what item each character might like the best and how to persuade them. the final hypnotizing was too challenging for me, but otherwise I also found it quite fun and to enhance the goofiness of the story. all around it was a great time!

love the world you've constructed here! the characters are all unique, i especially like frederick's sexy voice. And that animated purple background is just peak!!! The last level almost made me rage quit but i did it!!!

Cool art and it looks like we have the same game name!

Very creative idea! I loved the part where you need to convince the characters to but your stuff, but I wish there was more of that. Obviously that's hard to do in such limited time, but I just enjoyed the dialogue and talking bits much more than the hypnosis sections.
