How does your game fit the theme?
It's a puzzle game inspired by the self-eating ouroboros snake which is an ancient symbol for infinity. You have to form a loop by eating your tail to complete a level.

Fun puzzles with a lots of mechanics. An undo button would be great. I am impressed by the amount of puzzles and how well they go! And generally the game seems very polished and finished, super impressive. Good job to the team, would turn into a snake and eat my own tail in space through portals again.
Thanks a lot! We already have a new build lined up containing undo and redo buttons (and some more fixes and updates) which will go online after the voting period closes :)
Really fun puzzles. The only think I would like is an undo button. But other than that, great job!
Thank you so much! Undo and redo buttons are on their way together with some more stuff and will be posted after the voting closes!
This game has some genuinely head-scratching puzzles, which considering the duration of the jam was really impressive that y'all had so many banger puzzles ready with so many different mechanics. It's really unfortunate that level 22 is unbeatable but that didn't really sour the experience, just wished there was some debug command left so I could play the rest of the levels given the quality present at that point. What did sour it a bit was the buggy level progression as I would have to complete the same level twice in order to progress, even beating it first try upon level select didn't progress the level. Regardless I found the visual style to be charming, the environment and general theme was really pleasant to look at while trying to figure out the puzzles and it was fun to see the snake loop around the level via portals, really felt like a time worm wrapping around the galaxy. I think the tutorial levels could've been spaced out a bit more since it felt a bit like an information overload getting everything all at once, though the concepts were simple enough that I didn't really lose track of what they did. Despite the glaring oversights, this was an extremely well done puzzle game, gg!
Thank you so much for the thorough feedback! We really appreciate it. Your feedback and that of others will help us streamline the experience in terms of level arrangement and add some quality of life changes. As to the buggy level 22... I take full responsibility for that. It's all because I put the Boxes in the wrong layer so now they are treated as "Floor" :(( It was all very hazy in the end lol
Thanks for the great feedback from me too!
Level 22 and the progression bug should already be fixed but we can’t upload it during the jam of course. We‘re also working on some additional levels to smooth out the pacing as well as a couple QoL improvements, so I hope you‘ll give our post-Jam version a try. ;)
Btw.: I think you‘re the first person to make it to Level 22 so congrats on being such a great puzzle solver! :D
Oh, very clever. I wish I were better at puzzles, but this was fun anyway.
Thanks for playing!
How far did you manage to make it? :D
That’s a cool take on snake eating itself !
A really fun and polished game that offers an interesting twist to snake!🐍 I especially liked the portal tiles!!
Nice, the portals are one of my favorites too. :D
Thanks for playing!
The sheer number of puzzles kept me hooked—just wish there was a quick reset or undo for smoother retries. Great work!
On the browser version I had a "reset" button at the bottom right.
Thank you!
With quick reset you mean being able to reset via keyboard, right? This and an undo that also works with ctrl+z is already implemented and will be part of our post-jam update!
Nice game! I really liked the idea, and it has an absurd number of levels. I liked the first ones being introductory to the mechanics; they are very helpful. just wish there was a reset button.
Thanks for the feedback and glad you liked the game. Concerning the reset button: when you played the game, wasn't there a reset button on the bottom right corner of the screen? Did you play the game in browser? if yes which one and in full-screen mode?
sorry 😿😿😿, I think google got it confused when translating, I meant a key on the keyboard to reset a little faster
Did you play on a mobile phone? The fullscreen button doesn’t seem to work quite probably there so some buttons could be cut off.
Very interesting concept! I was forced to use my brain for level 12 though lol (which is great btw ). I really love the game overall.
Hello there fellow Ouroboros developer, I really enjoyed your take on the sub-theme
Amazing game! the levels are clever and you added some new concepts other than just making a puzzle about a snake biting it's own tail, Great job👌
Thanks a lot! Glad to hear we still managed to stand out. I didn’t expect that we would be the only team that thought of ouroboros but the amount of games about it is pretty insane. xD That being said: I love how varied the ouroboros games actually are. It’s like a whole new genre. Just gave your game a try and it’s great too!^^
so many levels! Having introductory puzzles like these to learn the mechanics of the game is very important. I wish we had the time to do this for our own puzzler game. I'm amazed by the amount of puzzles you managed to make in such a short time!
Thanks for the encouragement!
Yeah, making enough levels in time was a struggle. We did all the tutorials first, which was probably a good choice. Glad to hear it worked well for you. :) NonDescript Games did most of the levels and I gotta agree - he really achieved a lot in a short time.
nice game! the artstyle and the overall experience with the music and sfx are really fun. the only point i want to make is that i had to use my mouse every time id want to reset, so id wish there were keyboard controls, still, a pretty fun game overall ^^
Thanks! Yeah I really should’ve added ctrl+R for restarts and keyboard controls for the menus. I will keep that in mind for my future jams. It’s super easy to do in godot too, but I just kinda forgot about it. 😅
Love your take on the Ouroboros puzzler, its very well done. I also think you did a great job with making simple levels to explain the mechanics intuitively but I do think you should have spread these out a bit more and have some more levels based on just the new mechanics or it and a different one, right now the complexity ramps up a bit too quickly and even if the levels isn’t exactly that difficult it becomes intimidating. would have also appreciated an undo option. Also wanted to mention that I like the style of this game, its cute and fun!
well done Ourobro ;)
Thanks for great feedback my ouro-bro-ro. :D
I also really like your take - it’s so cool to see so many unique and creative takes on the ouroboro concept in this jam. ^^
We’ll definitely take the level pacing into account more for our next game - that was a great learning for us!
I really like the style and aesthetics of it! Puzzle wise, I do feel like the puzzles tend to have way too many moving parts. The game has so many different mechanics and for alot of the puzzles, the hard part was figuring out what is even going in the puzzle, rather than how to resolve the conundrum presented to me. Also an undo button would have been really helpful
Thanks for playing!
I agree, we went a bit overboard with the mechanics which didn’t allow us to make enough levels with each of them in time. There will be a post-jam version with an undo button and a lot more intermediate levels that should help smooth things out and improve the pacing!
this games tutorial is amazing! in spite of how overwhelming all the mechanics were when used together, I can say that the tutorial helped me understand them far better. I like how boxes were duel functional and the music and SFX were very fun. Also portals make every game like 10x better!
I do wish there was a kill bind though as the snake can get stuck extremely easy. and having to move my mouse does bring me out of the experience just a tad (though I guess if I was using the included touchscreen controls, it would have been a non issue.)
Over all very impressive game for a crew of 5 and it's one of the best puzzle games I played today!
Thanks for the kind words! Great point about being forced to use the mouse. I‘ll make sure to add keyboard controls for all UI elements as well as controller support in the upcoming post-Jam version.
Very fun idea!
Ouroboros! This is one of the best one's I've seen yet! The amount of polish, levels, and mechanics is insane for just four days! Great job!
Thank you so much! Ouroboros for life :D
so cool! I love the art. i had a pretty similar concept
Great minds think alike. xD I just tried out your game and it’s really fun as well! I like how you took the premise in a different direction by having it be more skill and timing based with the automatic movement
It's a really fun concept! I personally were a bit annoyed at the lack of "back" button to take back the last move you made, kinda like in Baba is You. The puzzles are creative and not too hard but sometimes they get challenging, I also feel like all the mechanics were thrown a bit too rapidly at once, I'd much rather prefer some levels with portals for example before getting other stuff but that's just me nit-picking, I enjoyed the game overall :D
Thanks a lot for playing!
Totally agree about the undo button- it was in the backlog from the start but we kind of forgot about it and then ran out of time to get it working. We’ll make sure to prioritize it next time! Good point about the pacing too… We made the tutorial levels first but couldn’t get all the in-between levels done in time as we might have gone a bit too crazy with the number of mechanics. xD
A post jam build with undo buttons and the missing levels is already planned, I hope you’ll check it out too! :)
Oh definitely will do! I love a good puzzle game :D
Good luck in the jam lad!
Thanks, good luck to you too! I’ll make sure to check out your game as well ;)
