I sumbitted our game https://bene-labs.itch.io/parasite but now it’s suddenly not showing up in this jam any more.
I’m not sure what happened but could you maybe re-add it please?

What a fun game, made me super nostalgic for the good-old cool math games days. :D Lucky some of my skills from back then carried over and I managed to fully beat it.
I love the idea of an evil game-master AI working against you, reminds me of this game. The AI came of more as cheerfull and silly then threating tough which was fun but not that scary.

Thank you so much for your awesome comment! ^^
Fully agree about the tutorial getting annoying. We have the save functionality fully implemented already but didn’t manage to complete the start scene that is supposed to show up once you completed the tutorial in time. We’ll add a special dialogue that only lets you choose you character and then gets you straight to the first scenario as soon as the rating period is over!
About the pin-dice and static effects: the idea was that you are visually seeing the perspective of the parasite, who can only intercept the electric impulses of the wolf’s brain. The pins represent it interfering with the brain’s functionality to affect the wolf’s reasoning. We ended up writing the text from the wolf’s perspective instead of the parasite as that turned out more engaging, but I hope it didn’t muddy the idea too much.
Thanks for the kind words and great feedback! :D
There currently are two good(-ish) endings you can reach. For the bad endings the monitor should always turn to black for a couple seconds before kicking you back to the main menu. Did that happen for your up-hill run or did you get stuck? Asking to make sure there isn’t another dead-end left. 😅
We will also go over all the endings and make sure they’re explained better for the post-jam build. And maybe we can add some more good endings as well. :P
I really love the game’s style even if I had some problem figuring out what to do.
With how great the game’s visuals are I think it’s a big shame that you seemed to have use Gen-AI for the thumbnail and page background tough. If you did, please make sure to declare it on your page as not doing so is against itch.io’s TOS.
Great game! Controls felt super smooth, and the visuals were slick. I love the combination of 2D pixel art in a 3D environment! The idea of being able to link this with twitch is super cool too, I hope you can make that work. :)
For the web version it would probably be best if you could use something besides ctrl to crouch, as it would always end up triggering a shortcut and closing the page on chrome. The desktop version ran great tough. One thing that could also be nice would be some indicator for enemies that are outside of your vision. I got shot in the back often and it could feel a bit unfair at times
Thank you for your great and very helpful feedback!
You make a very good point about it being hard to pause the game - we already implemented a save system and will include a quit&save and continue button in the post-jam build, but I’ll also look into adding a log for recent dialogue.
I also agree about the loops being a being a bit awkward in the current build- it’s at it worst when going down the river as we barely managed to complete the scenario in time. If you fully succeed the senses skill-check before running, you can go up-hill which leads to a more polished story path.
For the full game we’ll definitely avoid loops as much as possible and intend to have most choices continue the story right away- the loops were more of a last-minute save when time was running out for the jam.
Very fun experience, the ending caught me off guard! :D
Having to wait for the stock market to go beneath 6$ at the start was a bit tedious tough, maybe you could consider having the player start at 10$ or adjust the stock to go down more frequently.
The game was pretty small for me, as resizing the window didn’t work. Make sure to set stretch mode to ‘viewport’ to make the game scale up on a bigger window:

Great game, I love the setting of the cursed bowling alley and you turned it off really well!
The idea with the special balls was great too, maybe you could turn it into a balatro-styled deck-builder. :D I didn’t quite get what tickets do tough.
One thing you might have overlooked is that you can just walk up straigt to the pins with no punishment which makes the game significanlty easier to say the least. Altough I still managed to miss a shot at point-blank range. xD
Awesome game with the best jump scare I saw so far an great atmosphere!
I really loved the art on the paintings and the game looked amazing in general.
It feels a bit too hard as of now I also couldn’t find the lightning for the live of me. Had to give up for now after 8 attempts, although I did get 9/10 twice (once with a full power-bar but then the lightning killed me 😆).
Maybe it would be more manageable if I understood how the look mechanic works. I thought you had to keep the eyes on the portraits’ outside of your camera view and weren’t allowed to click the wrong objects. Does it have something to do with the shape of the cursor instead?
Really cool game!
I love the setting, and the atmosphere was great too. The dead eyes of the audience gave me the creeps for sure. Oo
The full-screen button wouldn’t work for me, and I fell through the floor next to the bottle on the table once. Maybe you could also consider closing the back-stage area to make the player feel more trapped. Otherwise, everything felt super polished!
This was great! Got me quite tense, not gonna lie. 😅
You could make the loss condition a bit clearer on the feeding game (I didn’t realize why it was restarting at first) and the notebook and mirror events couldn’t be completed via mouse. Other than that, everything felt super polished and made for a great experience!
