Love the premise and execution of this. Pretty damn creative having the scale of the window be adjusted. My highest score is 226 so far. Definitely playing more of this.

The presentation as a whole was cool. Sfx and game feel in general were crunchy and fun AF. The visuals were also adorably cool, however the amount of colours did sometimes tamper with the readability of the game. Along with that, the tiles which had the same colour as the floor sometimes made it hard to actually see them. I sometimes thought that they were unbreakable blocks and didn't really touch them, until I accidentally did and found out that they were breakable.

I'm  also not really a fan of the fact that you can't swing diagonally. When it comes to mining, it works well, but you really need to be able to hit enemies diagonally since they usually come at you at different angles. Pretty much all of my deaths were because I couldn't really get to an enemy in time. ( Probably just a skill issue though lol )

None the less though, this is still a fantastic game with a solid core-loop. Amazing work to everyone who worked on it.

Really like that I can change the screen shake percentage. Cute art, SFX and music. Maybe make the game window a little bit bigger. Keep up with your work!

This is trully a little gem :)

It was a blast to play - good job!

Unfortunately this game is not a browser game so... it could get more attention othewise

I highly recommend make only browser games for jams - you are talented team and I wish more people would play your games

LMAO what a cool idea to expand the window while digging !! It's so smart !! The loop is clean and everything from digging to fighting is very juicy congrats !!

Very fun little arcade game, good utilisation of resizing the window! Really liked the artstyle too, and gameplay was simple but effective. Did the colour of the blocks have an effect on their behaviour when destroyed?

Developer

Not sure I follow the question, but don't think so? All colored blocks follow the same logic and have the same chances of spawning. The only thing that's factored is that a bomb *may* spawn when a block is destroyed, it starts at 1% chance and increases by like 0.2% each block destroyed, once a bomb is created the chance is halved.

This is by far the most inventive interpretation I saw of the theme, wow. May I ask what you guys used to make this?

Love the arcade style and how all the mechanics support it, as well as needing to go back to the exit at the end. Meaning that you have to both dig to find good stuff as well as giving yourself options for the retreat.

If I had to give a suggestion it would be to maybe stun the player a bit if they try to hit a block that can't be broken, as to punish them for not paying attention.

I think you guys hit gold with this, and would definitely love to see it expanded in a bigger release. Congratulations!

Made in GameMaker, aseprite for art, chiptone for sound effects and ableton for the music!

Very cool, my friend made a pong based game once where you had to resize windows and open multiple versions for puzzles, and I just think that games like these that use the digital space as part of their identity are cool as hell!

Incredible work! Great take on the theme and a very crunchy fun arcade game at that! I am probably gonna play this for a bit after the jam, it's super satisfying. Also, crazy to include [SECRET] in there on top of everything!! It was fun to figure it out.

Developer

thank you! happy to see the lil' secret was found haha, we didn't feel like fixing [REDACTED] so we made it a feature :D

Bro, this game broke my brain, very cool! Perfect hit on the theme, style, music. Initially I thought that the window was so small because of pixelation, but how wrong I was..

Fun little game which unironically only gets bigger as you literally build out the window. Very clever take on the theme. Gets a bit frantic at the end but very fun.

The little yell the worms make when you hit them, made it very satisfying to swat those annoying pests which just keep blocking your path.

Holy, this is so good! How did you manage to pull off such a great concept, an execution in 2 days. One of the best and most polished and creative games I played in this game 5/5. Great game
