How does your game fit the theme?
The player must scale their website's infrastructure to accomodate more users. As the scale of their website increases, so does the pace of the game.

Mark: sorry to the itch.io server.
arlowatts: see where we are now.
This has shown me a brand new way to interprete the theme! so creative!
( schools should but this immediately)
Awesome entry and a really creative take on the jam theme! Great job! We loved the sound effects!
I love seeing games about networking that are similar to my entry as well! Great minds think alike after all. Nice work on this one, really like the fact that you render the messages.
Great idea and the style makes it feel like a fully polished game which is really impressive for 4 days. A speed change button would have been really nice to have, to speed up in general but also to be able to slow down when changing stuff around to make a completely new path etc. Absolutely love the visuals.
I think the idea is really clever (how you increase the size of a network) I also love the look of the game and it's consistency. I like that it's not just a concept, you actually have a small dialogue and a few more gameplay mechanics (the database, balancers) which are simple but create the illusion of size (kinda like factorio). The game should be a bit more UI heavy, the screen feels empty. Consider adding a shop button, instead of just clicking the money. More buttons on screen would add to the techy aspect (maybe like a panel where you can see your production rate, level, etc) amazing game for just 4 days.
Thank you, that's very kind! I think you're right, adding more UI elements would make it easier to navigate all the different information panels.
This is a brilliant idea executed with style ! I love the principle and the flavor of the game
I really like the idea! As someone who thought of making something about scalable infrastructure this looks cool.
The sound effects get a bit repetitive quickly.
The tutorial at first had this previous button that allowed me to click, felt a bit confusing.
Nice touch with adding random names for the servers! On my first try the link to the server didn't work even though I managed to connect to the up arrow.
Took a while to understand how to delete a link without deleting all routes.
Is there a way to lose? A server once got overloaded but I seemed to have no penalty.
It would be nice to see how much memory my devices have, and also be able to keep a steady message speed. Maybe adding a "auto pay" to keep message speed over a certain threshold.
All in all, a rather addictive network maker, I spent a good dozen minutes looking at the messages flying around.
Thanks for playing, I'm glad you liked it! This is awesome feedback, I especially like the idea of the "auto pay" feature - I think that would really take help to take it into the genre of Adventure Capitalist and Cookie Clicker, which both inspired parts of the deign.
The visuals are really well done and I like the simplicity of moving components around and connecting them. I think it could use a clearer objective to build towards or maybe a way to speed up time while waiting for something to become affordable. Overall, great work on the game!
That's a good idea! I think you're right, something to motivate the player to play the game would help a lot.
Cool Game!
I love the aesthetic, but the sounds get somewhat annoying quickly... The gameplay is well put, and engaging!
I would not have put the help window competing with the systems window, tho, the switching is tiring.
Ooh, I like that. I was wondering how to make the tutorial easier to follow - I think I know what you mean, and I think it would help. Thanks for playing!
This is so good, it reminds me a little of bitburner. I really love games like this
Bitburner looks pretty cool, I like the aesthetic! Thanks for the nice comparison :)
A little bit hard to understand at first, but then a really deep game, with elegant visuals, good job!!
Really liked this game. It's got a lot of depth and tons of different mechanics that make it super interesting. The sounds were a little buggy and quite annoying but the art easily made up for that.
Thank you, I'm glad you liked it! The sounds were a bit of a mistake haha, I can't stand them myself. Oh well, live and learn :)
Pretty fun sandboxy idley game! I like that it could teach people about network programming. Presentation is lovely, although I did find the sound effects somewhat annoying.
Thank you, I'm glad you liked the presentation! I chose the visual style right at the start and never really gave myself a chance to think about whether I liked it or not, so I'm glad it turned out well. Also, I 100% agree about the sounds - I had to keep the tab muted for the rest of the jam after I added them! I think I have a lot to learn about sound design.
I really liked this, what you have feels really polished and Id loved to see even more in a fleshed out release!
Thanks, that means a lot to me! I've gotten some really insightful feedback already so I'm excited to take it further after the jam.
This game is very original and fun! I feel like it is also educational in that it gave me an idea of what might be involved in setting up a network. I like the simple graphics and sounds and the dynamically generated server names were also engaging. I could see this being used in a training setting to introduce people to the idea of a computer networking in a fun way. I will play again so that I can try out the Firewall feature. Nicely done :)
Thank you for your kind words! I'm glad you liked the game :)
Great game! I really like the minimilist aesthetic of the game. It feels very clean. I think it could have used some polish, such as feedback when something is purchasable or not, but other than that, I quite enjoyed the visuals of the game. I would have liked some variation in the sounds. Hearing the same loud sound effects over and over got frusterating but I do like how you used the sound effects to signify when the messages were completing their path or getting blocked. Gameplay wise, this might be a me problem, but I always felt like I was struggling to make money. I had trouble getting to the point where the game actually started to scale in pace because everything was so expensive. Perhaps adding some cheaper options at the start that incrementally get more expensive would be helpful and help new players get engaged in the game. All in all, a very impressive game with a lot of potential!
Thanks for the superb feedback! Especially about the game progression, since I wasn't sure how to improve it at first. Adding cheaper early-game options is a great idea!
I had to mute the tab while I was making it because the sounds were killing me. I should have thought about that a bit more!
