How does your game fit the theme?
I went two ways with the theme. The first is pretty obvious, the player is scaling spires physically by jumping to the top. In between rounds, players scale both their and the enemies power, Scaling the enemies power makes the dificulty scale higher, and rewards the player with coins to spend on their own power scale.

Woah that knight jumps so high. Mario getting some competition there. I got stuck after the 2nd level? I couldn't buy or sell anything and my money was negative? I think I would have preferred a keyboard-only control scheme. Cool little sprites though! Good job with your submission.

really like the idea that you can change the stats of the enemies as well, i didn’t notice how it will help ourselves but after seeing you explained it it makes more sense and really interesting idea. I believe little more polishing would have made everything so much more enjoyable. Great job overall

The jump upgrade was great. Had a lot of fun trying to purely jump to the end. But because the jump was so reactive it did make timing an attack a bit hard. Interesting interpretation of the theme.

Alright so being able to scale the stats so high was... interesting, since you could jump to space pretty much, which completely broke the game haha. I'm wondering what the incentive would ever be to actually scale the enemies? why make them harder? What benefit would that give a player that makes them need/want to ever do that outside of curiosity? It was an interesting play at least~ <3

It's for sure isn't explained well enough, and that's on me. But when you scale the enemies, you are given more coins for beating the level. Thus increasing your score (which is sadly on displayed at the end) and giving you more coins  to spend on yourself.

Yes you can upgrade your jump and speed so high that you can just jump to the end, but you'll also get a low score.

Alternatively, you can hard level health/damage/defense, and slowly go throught the levels and get a high score.

To beat the game, and get the highest score possible, you have to make all the enemies 10 in all attributes, and in order to survive you need at least 4s in all player attributes, then kill all enemies(except birds. I forgot I never gave birds health). and collect all coins.

There's also a bug where your(and the enemies) stats get multiplied before each level, instead of ONLY when you level them up. So oops,

Oh I see! That makes a lot more sense, thanks for explaining that. I'm sure it will help other people out to see this too :3

Choosing the way enemies get stronger is a really interesting mechanic. It makes your enemies a part of your build in a way. Although  I wish that you had more control over the height of your jumps, because often when I tried to jump over an enemy in order to land a hit, I ended up landing on the platform above instead of where I wanted to.

Being able to upgrade the enemies is a pretty cool idea. I got an early super jump and bounced to the end.

The screen on the web version seems a bit cropped, but nice work!

I dumped all of my coins into upgrading my jump, which was a blast. Great take on the theme!

It was definitely hard to see the player, but I had similar issues with my game. Definitely a cool idea and I like the upgrade system you put in place.

a cool idea and i like the visuals a lot! i had fun deciding how to upgrade my character. however, I think the player sits a bit low on the screen (at least for my PC) and sometimes when I jumped it was a little hard to see the rest of the layout. also on the description of the page you wrote shift to jump but ingame it's space! no biggie, as you have ingame instructions anyway. cool game!

Developer

Thanks for the heads up on the typo. Got it fixed!

The player does sit low, the intent is so you can see whats a head. I sadly put the camera off to the last second so i didn't get to make it as good as I wanted.
