How does your game fit the theme?
You are the villain, but you want to keep the heros alive to make more money. You also get you points before every run instead of after (because that is when heros buy equipment from you).

First and foremost, I absolutely adore the art (which reminds me of Don't Starve) and music.
The concept of being a dungeon master seems one of the more common ideas in this jam, but having to keep the heroes alive is a nice twist. And the chat is funny.
My only gripe pretty much is more polish and stuff. For example, attack animations, health indicators and so on. And maybe make hero deaths more controllable.
Amazing job on the entry!
The art is gorgeous, with an incredible sense of style and some lovely touches like the puppeteer dungeon master shadow, and the music is a perfect fit giving a strong michievous feeling :)
The central concept is excellent, and I really enjoyed trying out different combinations of creatures to test the strength of the adventurers. Loved the little snippets of dialogue - both in the intro and during gameplay when characters beat a stage or die - and I was delighted that it's a functioning chat feature so I could taunt them (also, your screenshot line in the images you've posted here really cracked me up - definitely a familiar feeling lol)
Would love to see this one expanded, with a little more information available about character/enemy hp or stats so I can adapt my strategy accordingly :)
gosh it looks and sounds really good, and the idea is awesome. Neither the shop nor combat seem to be in a good spot at the end of the jam, but I hope you plan to continue development on this!
Your game is very pretty! A bit hard to gauge the strength of the heroes, mayb it could help to show some stats so we can strategize a little bit more
Great concept and presentation!
Really cool concept and fun game. I love the art and music sets a really nice atmosphere. It would be nice if you could see the stats of the monsters you are gonna place.
All the party members died. I'm not sure if that makes me a good Dungeon Master or a bad one XD
Looks and sounds fantastic, but I can't tell how you sell things to the players?
I can see where this game is going and its really interesting. I like the setup of having to balance the encounters. The game looks great, the art style with the slighly rough and cartoony style is great and works perfectly for the mood. The music is also really enjoyable although it is set very loud by default, I appreciate the volume slider.
The biggest changes needed are just giving more information to the player. For some reason I went left when selecting a monster so I chose a goblin and instantly killed the party. I realise the slime looks softer but between the goblin, skelleton, and spider it didn't seem like the visuals were informing the danger level so I discarded that fact. Seeing a rough idea of the moster threat, even if you aren't given the exact stats would be great. There's also no indication that the heroes are buying anything from the shop and I spent a long time looking for something my mouse could interact with to sell items. Also the game soft locked for me on level 2 very time.
Really good premise, I would be excited to play an updated version of this.
I had no idea what was going on.
:)
wow graphics
Fantastic art and music!! gotta a little bit confuse in the beginning, but once figure out... amazing work!
thanks for the kind feedback :)
one goblin killed all three of the heroes.... :D
jup, they are the strongest enemy in the game and maybe a bit overtuned
Amazing Art and Music love the shadow of the puppet master in the background! Was hard to follow what was happening in the battles though, more visuals to show who was attacking may help.
Thank you for the feedback! :)
Yeah, we had a lot more visual feedback, like attack animations, lined up but couldn't get it into the game in time. ^^
I liked the aesthetic of it! The idea is really solid, but a little lackluster in being entertaining while you watch the heroes & the monsters go at it with each other at their throats (mind you I know animation is not a quick & easy task) is really my only critique of it. There's features here and there that would be nice to have like viewing stats of your own monsters and also health bars for the heroes but those are luxuries for a project with a 48 hour due date x)
I think it was good, the music was also really good! A solid 3.5/5.

Very nice art and style, but I wasn’t able to understand how to sell or just how to play. I even was allowed not to put any monsters and they were skipping everything… May be I misunderstood something?
P.S. Our sound designer really appreciate games with volume control, and this is the first one after our I’ve seen so far :D
Interesting concept, with a really good (and creative!) presentation!
Not sure how the "chat" mechanic would fit in this kind of game, but I thought it gave a good "retro" feeling playing old MMORPG games with my friends, selling items to NPC's. Not sure if this was what you were aiming for, but it was a very good feelig nonetheless.
glad you got that feeling! here you would be selling the items to the players as NPC, but thats not a feeling you normally get i suppose
That's amazing, I thought that would be the case! I'll definetly check again if you ever plan on keep developing it, but you did a great job on the jam idea!
an amazing idea!! and the art looks amazing :)
Great art and sound! Really impressive. The gameplay was a bit boring, since you're just watching text (which was kind of hard to read). I feel like the idea had a lot of potential with choosing the enemies that they battle. I wish that I knew more about what the enemies would do in the dungeon so I could strategically choose them.
thank you for the feedback! yeah, there is definately feedback missing and a better explanation of what to do.
