Great minds think alike! :P

The visuals and game feel are very, very nice. The visuals and music remind me a lot of Pizza Tower, which is a huge plus in my book. The game is super polished, too. You have a great core mechanic with  a lot of great animations and art to go with it.

Loved that your tomato can get chopped into multiple pieces and you have to manage all of them at once. The burger game was a fun concept, too. It was a bit hard to dodge the hazards without a mouse and insane reaction speed, so maybe a warning similar to the knife shadow could ease the learning curve a bit.

Looking forward to seeing whatever comes next!

Developer

Super glad you enjoyed it! The burger game was definitely rushed compared to the cutting board game, and could definitely use some work. Thanks for checking it out.

such a fun idea with a really good execution. Definitely lots of potential to become a full game.

Glad you enjoyed it!

I liked how the tomato splits apart each time it's cut, it made me want to keep the tomato whole for as long as I could.

It seems like when your mouse leaves the hitbox of the objects, you lose control.  Keeping track of when an object is being held, and keeping it that way even if the mouse leaves the hitbox, would make it much nicer to control.

Nice game!

Developer

Your totally right, the mouse leaving the hitbox was due to a hacky solution and your idea is much better. Time got the best of me sadly

Neat game! I wish the start was a bit harder and more hectic, the first like few seconds are really easy and a bit boring. The last few seconds are really cool and hectic. I can see this being fleshed out more with more recipes and minigames. Great art. Good job!

This is a very cool game and concept! Wish it was a bit more forgiving though: the mouse doesn't always pick up the tomato/meat so a bigger hitbox would be nice there, and the knife sometimes reaches all the way across the board for some reason. Overall a good submission, would like to see this get expanded upon. Good job!

Super glad you enjoyed it! I ran into a lot of hitbox issues this jam, from picking up food to the knives animation causing it to stretch weirdly.

Very fun indeed :D Took a while to understand the remaining knife is dangerous, somehow it felt like it was still in the air rather than on the board, maybe something can be done to improve that visualization. Also sometimes the object drops from the cursor for some reason.

Developer

Not the first person to think the remaining knife wasn't dangerous! Didn't even cross my mind and then as soon as someone pointed it out I realized I should've made that more clear. The cursor drop was a hacky solution to stopping players from glitching the food out of bounds. I definitely could've made it so that it remembers that the food is being dragged, I just didn't have time.

So cool and creative! Loved the concept and presentation! Congrats!

Thanks for checking it out!

I really liked this game! The only thing I didn't like is that I lose the thing I was holding if I move too quickly. Anyway it's my favorite game I've tried so far.

5 stars on all! The idea is so damn cool! If you continue the game in the future i'll be glad to play it!

Developer

Thanks so much!

Cool game, Great Job!!!

Very cool game! the burger game was a lot easier than the tomato one at least for me.  Art is very apealing!

I got cooked :(.  I also had fun.

The idea that the tomato halves are essentially extra lives is genius. Also that music is bumpin'

Developer

I lack all musical talent sadly... Luckily I have to friends who can make incredible music quickly!

Really fun game - feels like a massive boss fight. Visuals and tone are nailed down really well in my opinion.

Developer

Thanks so much! A big boss fight is just what I was going for

Fun Game! Although the hixbox for the knife in the first level is a bit harsh.

This really is the dark souls of games where you play as a tomato trying not to get turned into a burger
