Even though it is quite buggy, I still love the art and the music and it is definitely a 15 out of 15.

Developer

Thanks for checking out the game and leaving a comment, would to hear from you what bugs you encountered in the game

Submitted(+1)

I love the concept of the this game. The bugs kinda took me out of it at times but I was still into it. Very original :D

Developer

thanks for checking it out! would love to hear more about the bugs you encountered tho

Love your work angela but couldn't get it to work :(

Developer

have you tried to delete your PlayerPrefs (whose location is described here at com.twobraincells.ribbons) and restart?

Submitted

Yea i mentioned it in the game page

Developer(+1)

Ah, I see -- thanks! Yeah it's a very weird bug with Unity's input system :\ some people have gotten it to work some haven't. I think someone mentioned being able to get it to work by plugging in a controller and unplugging it, but I haven't verified that yet.

Once the jam is over, we'll be sure to squash this bug 4ever

That's great thanks :)

Great game, I enjoyed it but the bugs kind of push it down sadly. After I finally got it working, I got stuck on the platforming since the movement feels kind of clunky. I got stuck for a while even before the second flag. The movement glitches a lot, and my dash never really works so I was unable to push up the bubbles more than one step. But I really liked the idea. Good job.

Developer

Thanks for checking out the game! I would love to understand more about the movement glitches you encountered. Like were you unable to dash or jump?

Submitted(+1)

Hey!
I was able to dash and jump but dashing was usually very hard for me. I felt like I had to time it perfectly and when I did, the character glitched and only dashed a small bit. And I don’t know how you were supposed to dash the bubbles upwards. I only managed to dash them up by one step, but that alone was also very glitchy. I also found it strange how the bird always forced itself to be facing the left when I didn’t hold down the ’D’ key.

That’s the issues I found with the movement, but maybe I didn’t quite understand something about it or I managed to glitch the game.

Developer

I see, thank you so much for your comment! Really helped me understand what's going on a lot more :)

Wow! I loved this game! I love narrative games, but most end up being games that actually want to be a book/visual novel and not a game, this is an exception! This really melds the two of them together and I really enjoyed it! Piecing together the story was really satisfying and felt very real/natural. I love that you have human and non-human characters. I love the art style and the quality of animation.

I love the take on the theme too! I'm also in love with the wolf cut that the main character has in the splash/loading photo! Very trendy and cute!

Also the music is great. I know it's pre-existing audio, and I honestly listen to a lot of lo-fi chill-hop but it felt very fitting for the game! Great job! really great job!

Developer(+1)

ty!! we tried our best to merge the two genres haha. love that you know what a wolf cut is ;3

The way that you need to solve puzzle by rearrange speech bubbles from a conversation with a stranger in a mmo, is incredibly innovative.

I really love the overall presentation, especially the art style is gorgeous. I think that this game can sell well on Steam, with more features, mechanics and levels. I then would also welcome a switch port.

I understand that you implemented the jam's theme in the plot. For this jam, however, i was missing the theme in the overall gameplay mechanics.

Unfortunately i came across some bugs, where i couldn't finish a level and where i couldn't move after the conversation with the 64 year old.

Overall this is a pretty amazing game. My respect, really great work. I suggest that you develop this game further.

Developer(+1)

That's actually the end of the game (where you couldn't move anymore)

Apologies that that wasn't clear -- really appreciate your feedback, though :)

One of the best games of this Jam! Pretty deep too! Nice work guys!

exquisite art, writing and music all around the board

i really loved the watercolor style and the story really resonated with me

the gameplay part of the game was also really well thought out

i had problems with the jankyness of the controls though, the dash  was really hard to input, and i got stuck when i dashed down into a cloud speech bubble and got launched into the ceiling, clipping through it and getting stuck

still, the art and story make this game worth playing, and even though the jank hindered my experience, it did not ruin it

I really want to play the full game. I absolutely love this game! Maybe some polishing up with the mechanics, and of course the known bugs.

I love the art-style, story, it's really immersive.

Is there someway to track this game for when the full game releases? :3

Developer(+1)

thanks!! just follow me or tanat and you should see in your feed when we release it

wow! you guys really delivered something crazy good!

great art, funny, immersive, i really like the experience. congrats!

I think this would work super great once the bugs are ironed out! I tried playing and had the same bug where I couldn't input anything. Even after deleting the player prefs (both in appdata and registry), I was able to get past the main menu but the game froze after the first line of dialogue lol. It looks nice from the screenshots and short youtube trailer! I'm excited to see where this goes.

Developer

Ah, you couldn't press 'e' to continue through the first line of dialogue?

Submitted(+1)

I  SWEAR I pressed like every key, but apparently not.

The game was super fun! I loved the dialogue, the fancy text, and the different portraits! The mechanic of moving the text bubbles around was kinda funky but a really neat puzzle mechanic. I liked the introduction of different bubbles too. I guess maybe having a flashing arrow after dialogue for people who are kinda dumb like me haha. Nice work guys!
