Hey I couldn't rate this one because I think I have a bug on my machine? The screen scrolls down to the view of the kids lined up in front of the merry go round, but the arrow keys and Z don't do anything for me. Am I missing something? (I'm on Chrome on a mac, which sometimes has weirdness.) I'll try another browser and let you know. But please reply if I'm just missing something. :D
FYI, tried Safari on mac with the same problem. Might just be user error on my part?
Yes sorry about that! The web player for this game engine is a little bit finicky, at least when embedded on itch. I find if you just click directly on the game when it says "click to start" and then don't click anywhere else on the page, it usually works. Seems like if the game loses focus, then you can't get it back without refreshing the page.
I have tested it successfully on Safari following that method. I hope you can get it working. If not let me know and I can try to package it as a mac app.
That was it! I must have clicked elsewhere on the page, or maybe I entered full screen mode or something. It ran for me and was a good time. Like the mini game approach and ease of play. Thanks!
Glad it finally worked! Thanks for giving it another try :)
This is awesome! At first I was very confused, but the story deleoped very well. At the end at the coffe machine I thought, wait a minute, its just the old carousal again :) And then the music started and the world started to fade away. Very good entry, Great Job!
Thanks a lot! I'm glad that it became less confusing as you played more :) Thanks for giving it a try. I'm sure we all share this feeling, but I definitely struggled telling a story without language.
Neat entry! It all lined up well. It was definitely good you had the mechanical mini game show up after the second round as I otherwise might have missed it. In fact, there were several points where I thought that was “going to be it” but then there was a little more. Got a chuckle when the big-time exec came offering money haha
Edit: also meant to say kudos for making the music and just having absolutely everything tie in together. Only nit would be in the very ending credits, for at least the coffeeshop ending I got, which transitioned into a sort of musical credits void, could be nice to offer a restart button or something to signal nothing more is coming
Thanks a lot for playing and for the kind feedback. I completely agree with your feedback, great points. If I had more time I would've liked to add more hints that something different is coming, and also some indication that the game is really over at the end. Thanks for sticking with it :)
Omg! this game is gem... It has a soul :)
The style put me back in 90s ("sega" vibes)
I absolutely loved the mini - games style! Great job!!! definitely one of my tops!
Thank you so much :) that means a lot.
I liked all the different modes you put in here, this is a really fun game and I like the story as well.
Thank you! Really glad you liked it :)
Super fun game! I like how the gameplay is really integrated with the story. It gets a little repetitive after a bit, but not egregiously so. The art and music were super fun and really helped to sell the mood. Well done!
Good job I think I finished it, great design, music and art on top of really good story telling - well done!
Really impressed with how you told a story mostly through gameplay! This one of my favorites so far! The art, music, gameplay, and story all went together really well.
Thank you so much :) I’m glad that the story came through. Definitely a tough round for me.
Collecting the customers' money and avoiding their rubbish was good fun and I like the look of the game, it’s very lighthearted and fun. Also, the part where you go under the ride was a delightful and unexpected surprise and adds good variety to the gameloop
Thanks for the feedback! Did it feel too repetitive? Were you able to make it to the end?
I made it to the end at the cafe, I don't think it was repetitive and actually had a good variety of things to do but if you wanted to add more variety, I guess adding more to the challenges like having one customer paying with coins that bounce off the sides could be cool, each customer's face could be on the screen and be different to look at, maybe the notes on a windy day flutter down, things like that
Really great ideas thank you for the suggestions :))
