Game Dev Knock Out (GDKO) is an elimination tournament for game developers of all skillsets. It's played out over 5 rounds between January and May with the game developers with the lowest scores being eliminated each round until only 5 developers remain to take part in the final of the competition. If you ranked in the top 79 during GDKO 2023 Round 1 or were fortunate enough to be given the Wildcard then welcome to round 2, another 25% of submitted entries will be eliminated at the end of the round.
Congratulations to round 1 winner Jebouin and also to round 1 runner ups Spoonsweet and ReillyStudios for some fantastic level design!
Also well done to Arcy for slipping through by the narrowest of margins, doing enough to sway guest judge Manisha and earning the round 1 wildcard.
TASK: Tell a story using sound. QUALIFICATION: Top 75% of submitted entries will qualify for round 3.

Can I build on my round 1 entry?
Yes you can, the task is focusing on sound design. Can you add audio to enhance the player experience and tell a story?
Can I start a new project?
Yes you can.
Do I have to make a full game?
No. You only need to take your player on a journey using sound. There were some really great concepts that came out of GDKO 2022 in the sound and audio round. All the videos are on my YouTube Channel.
