Nice game, pretty taff . Just after my third run everthing was in slow motion (probably some bug).
Oh, a vampire survivors-like, how lovely, and with great execution as well! I loved the clean art style and the juicy-ness on all the actions that needed it. I agree with others that the sword swing sfx might need a replacement and that some sort of tutorial would be appreciated. Still tough, really nice game!
I liked the visuals and the juice felt really nice.
I think that a bit more direction at the start would help alot!
fun entry!
What I liked:
What I thought could be improved
Cool game! I didn't understand some of the stuff that I could buy. Like a red ring flying around me doing seemingly nothing? Didn't feel like I had time to read at the shop either :D
I think some damage cooldown would have been nice. It felt like as soon anything got close, I died after hearing a drumroll of taking-damage-sounds.
The music slider turned itself down to 0 all the time. Was there some more music than the bass beat of the sword?
I had a little hard to read stuff in the menu because there was so much going on with the cool background. Maybe the background could have had less bright colors, to let the text stand out more!
Impressive submission, well done!
Very nice and cute art, nice juice, also cool actually having a progression system. Just had to stop playing after a while because the timescale slowdown sort of stacked on top of each other when I died and persistent throughout the whole game. Also wish it would get going faster in terms of getting the first perks.
Its a nice and simple game! I like how dying also gives a fisheye lens-like effect, and the camera affects from colliding with or against enemies feels satisfying. The upgrades are a great addition to the game, I also like the art!
I did however run into a situation a few times on the exe and web version where the game slows down (idk the exact cause but i think it happens when killing enemies while dying)
another thing to maybe point out is i think the enemies movements arent normalized (meaning they run way faster when running diagonally) so I often got outrunned by these guys whenever I ran veritcally or horizontally
I played the web version so that might explain some bugs I experienced but for now here's my impressions:
It feels like a solid game, but one time I didn't bounce back from the slowed timescale and had to reload the page, and the progress bar at the end also feels kinda... janky?
But hitting enemies was very fun and satisfying, and the upgrade are meaningful and powerful. The only major problem I had was telling how much health I actually had left, which made it difficult to gauge how well I was doing
I really liked the style of this game, the frogs are beautiful
here's the web version for the one interested ! https://dukedie4.itch.io/froglike-web
