How does your game meet GBJam's theme?
You play as a dwarf on a quest to reach the end of a cave and break his family’s curse. The curse makes him extremely unlucky, causing his gear to break and leaving him exhausted while digging.

cute game, really like what you did, was a bit, hard to figure out at first but has charm.

Ok, I really liked the game, it has some spelunky vibes meets minecraft. I didn't get the controls at first, didn't notice I could break the terrain xD, I was expecting an active action but I liked it was kinda automatic by just moving (like domekeeper). Anyways, I really liked it, I wanted some audio, and also if you added some procgen, I would've played for much more time since having to play the same level multiple times after completing was a bit disapponting. Great entry nonetheless.

Plays quite nice, not too enthused about the colors of choice, but it works well enough. The curses are a nice touch, nothing too disruptive, but still disruptive enough.

Up is not jump. Or it is and that might be a problem.

Some very cool mechanics in this.  Great artwork too. Nice job!

Nice graphics and concept here. The mechanics you've implemented feel great, but I'd be curious to see how it'd play with a little more level to explore and a slightly little faster digging mechanic to keep me exploring. Thanks for making and sharing your game!

A good concept. But its unlucky that I cant go deep because of the curse !!!!!!

Wow, what you achieved in 10 days is impressive — great game!

Nice! Base mechanics feel nice and fluid.

Only the digging feels really slow. I know that is part of the idea but i feel like being able to dig 4x as fast would make it even better.

I like the spelunky-like vibes here, an already unlucky game to start with lol. I was really impressed by a lot of the vfx like the particle effects that some of the blocks have when they're mined

It's a fun little digger with some nice items and upgrades akin to  Steamworld Dig. I liked most of the interactions and the items were nicely diverse to give me different options.

For whatever reason the top of the screen was cut off for me. It felt like the game window was trying to show a 16:9 frame rather than the dimensions of a Gameboy screen. I could tell that there were things in the upper part of the UI and menus that I couldn't see so I don't want to comment on anything missing there since it was likely just cut off by the window.

The gameplay was nice and bouncy, which was fun and you could feel the upgrades when purchased so the balancing was nice. I do wish that the coins weren't shot quite as far when they pop out of either chests or blocks. I had to do a lot of running back a block or two in order to pick them up, which became more of a chore and detracted from the good feeling of seeing the toys pop out.

Oh no! I didn’t notice the viewport dimensions in the last upload, my bad. It’s fixed now.

The HUD now properly shows when you’ll get another curse (random debuff), along with your HP, selected item, and their amounts… all the helpful stuff. Sorry about that!

As for the coins flying around, the idea was to create fun moments of optimizing your digging and pushing you into risky situations. In practice, it turned out more boring than exciting, so I’ll tone it down.

Thanks a lot for playing!

consider changing the itch "viewport dimensions" to like 700x600 px high, seems like some of the game got cut off

otherwise, neat game. i like the art and animations

Thanks! I messed up the last upload, but it’s fixed now.
