Nice concept and implementation! Personally, I'd improve some things, though:

  • I'd improve the readability of the tiles, making more clear what tile is dangerous and what is not
  • When the character shrinks, I'd recommend you guys to not zoom that much on it, show more of the environment. When the player has a grasp on what is around them, they can make more informed decisions, avoiding subsequent frustations of getting into a dangerous tile without noticing
  • Speaking of tiles, I was able to walk through some that were supposed to work as the level's boundaries, the black ones. Being able to go from one level to another I wasn't supposed to go.

That's all! Congratulations on the submission, guys! Hope to hear more of you in other jams!

Thanks for playing! We will be adding an update after this that will enable me to address and fix many issues I wasn't able to address previously, such as the ones you mentioned. We appreciate the feedback!

Nice game! I really like the puzzle of switching between large and tiny!

Thanks for playing! We thought it would be a really neat mechanic to add that could fit the theme.

Interesting idea with the shrinking to be able to walk on lilypads and other things you wouldn't be able to if you're big/too heavy! I got some fun minish cap nostalgia from this! The moving into the wall when small or getting stuck by accidentally pushing a rock slightly into a door confused me a bit until I read other comments here.

Thanks for playing! I apologize for some of those issues! I will be adding an update that will address a lot of the issues shortly after the game jam!

Cool game idea - it's definitely a tiny world!  I liked the music also.

Developer

Thanks for playing! John Leon did great with that track!

I think the camera zooms in a little too aggressively and the speed controls are very hard to follow and understand. I do love this and I cannot wait to see what else you make!

Developer (1 edit)

Thanks for playing our game! So there is a patch going out but due to the regulations it cannot be during the rating period, as its not actually a bug.

We plan to at the bare minimum have a keybind that will allow you to zoom out when you are small. There may be some other adjustments to the camera zoom.

Nice little puzzle game! I wasn't sure though if its intended to run on the outside walls at some points when I was tiny or not. Music was good! Congrats on completing a game for the jam!

Developer

Thanks for playing! Haha, no, you're not. By the time I saw that issue, I had other pressing matters in the game to fix up before I was willing to fix that one. Since it wasn't game-breaking, it was pushed to the back burner.

I liked the game. But it was a bit hard to know where I was when shrunk. I think a more detailed sprite for when your shrunk and a minimap would give help a lot.

Developer

Thanks for playing! One of the things we are planning to do after the jam is to update the game and fix the camera angle and let you view the room as if you we normal-sized.

I felt like a mouse in a maze while playing your game :)

It was interesting, but at first it wasn't entirely clear which tiles were responsible for what (and also, when you're small, you can run along the walls and around the big rocks blocking the exit xD).

Thanks for the game, it was fun to feel like a shorty!

Developer

Thanks for playing! I'm glad you enjoyed the game. We are looking into a few different ways to help with the issue on where you can and can't walk.

Great job submitting your game! I thought it was a fun idea to shrink and grow. It was at times hard to see the lily pads when you were small, so if you continue working on the project, maybe animate the water so there is a differentiator between a walkable surface and not.

Developer

Thanks for playing! There were a lot of touch-ups that I would have loved to do. Sadly, do to a bunch of issues, we ended up very behind, and I was not able to add those touch-ups like the water shader/animation. Ended up spending my time fixing up a bunch of bugs and connecting sounds and the levels together on the last day.
