Loved this game. The cartoony graphics were so cute. Sometimes some of the jumps, especially that ladder at the beginning were a little finicky to make, but this was a charming little game. Good job!

The colliders on the platforms makes me a bit angry during the jumps :)

Really well done! Great little game. Very smart thematic choices woven into the gameplay. Really impressed. Especially loved feeling more free to jump with every chain unlocked! My only wish is that I could jump upwards through platforms. Otherwise, spot on! Keep up the great work!

I really hope I don't have to finish my chores to reach the afterlife!
I liked the concept a lot, I think the execution could use some work. I found it a little clunky. That first ladder was very difficult to get to and a lot of the time my character is as wide as the platforms which wasn't very forgiving, I also found them a little slippy.
At some point during the second level, I stopped getting the E prompt on the items I needed to interact with, which threw me for a while. I don't know if that was a bug or intended?

Thanks for the comments, they are very helpful! I turned off the E prompt on purpose, because I thought players might get the hang of things by the end, but I think I should have kept it just for the reasons you mention, since it wasn't always obvious what the player should interact with. I did try to keep it as one type of interactable per stage for simplicity, but keeping the E would have been a good idea. Thanks for playing!

The way it went away, for me, for very sudden. It was on a bath or sink and there were 2 taps to turn off, I got the prompt for one of the taps but not the other so that really threw me. It doesn't need to be an E but something that indicates that something is interactable, like an outline when they're in position or something would be really helpfu;

I absolutely adore this game. The concept is great, and your execution of it is super solid. The whole game feels very cohesive, including the sound effects and music. This ghost surely kept a very clean house when it was alive and well. I had a lot of fun with this, thank you!

I love the idea you had here. Simple, but very creative. I would have liked a few more levels, but what you had was awesome.

I love how good the feedback to the player is. You interact with the required objects, one of your chains disappears with a nice effect. And the controls are very well explained, including the interaction prompt, that's very nice to see.

The music is a really good fit. Perhaps the sound effects could be a bit louder, as they are hard to hear with the music.

Platforming feels really good, the jumps are well measured. The only thing I would say is that me, personally, as a random player, I expected to be able to jump from under a platform without colliding with it (Mario style, I guess :D). But that would definitely impact level design, so it's not something to change lightly.

Great concept, and I'm very amused by the idea that a ghost needs to do chores before he goes on to the afterlife. And I'm even more amused that he has a ton of garbage and multiple bathtubs and ovens. Very funny. I also love the idea of the burden of the chores makes your controls heavier, and getting rid of them makes you more agile. You can do a lot with that concept.

My only major complaint is the collider. It is much smaller than the character, so I kept getting stuck on things I was trying to jump on.

So the deal with the collider is that it's mostly around the ghost's feet. This ended up being a compromise because I wanted him to walk through things like the ladder in the 1st stage and the red steps in the bathroom, but I didn't have time to implement more than a basic solution of what we've got here. More learnin' for the next time!

Ah, makes sense. My solution when I want things like that is to have multiple colliders, and set one active and one inactive during the appropriate collision event. There are other ways to do it, but maybe that would help.

Gorgeous looking game! Definitely nailed the core-game loop of walking and jumping. I would have liked some more obstacles and challenges, but the presentation and timing are so tight, that I didn’t realise that until after I had finished.

omg, it was realy fun. i liked too many thing in this game

  • broken chains
  • that we jump higher when chains break
  • camera moving away when we turning of the lights
  • background details like facuet.

Yeah especially with those lights, I thought it would be cool if like the last thing you do in this life is turn out the lights, but then they were too high up in the room! So I had to zoom out so it would be noticeable. I'm glad you enjoyed it!!

Great job on this! I can tell you put a lot of thought into the switch/faucets/other trigger mechanics. I enjoyed the theme as well, and the ghost art was nice! One suggestion I would make is tweaking the collision interactions with platforms. Overall, had a lot of fun!

A delightful game !
I felt my earthly burdens being lifted off of my back as I managed to break the last shackle.
