Excellent work on the character and environment designs!
I couldn't get past those swinging hammers. They seemed to be moving at light speed xD

Developer

Thanks, I'm glad you liked it. Oh and there's an item you can find to help with the hammers.

Oh really? I looked around quite a bit and didn't stumble across any items unfortunately. If I knew there was an item I would've kept looking, though :)

The art is perfect. Liked the exploring gendre. But swinging hammers are buggy. I'll definitely play full game. Maybe add UI, enemies and environment sounds(e.g. Door sound). Nice game

Thanks for the feedback. I think the swinging hammers were a misfire and I'll replace them with a less buggy type of obstacle. Polishing up the UI and getting SFX are the two big areas I would've liked to have spent a little more time on.

I really loved the art, I would totally play a whole game that looks and feels like this does. The controls were also super responsive and running around felt generally good. The castles design was great, and I really wanted to explore everywhere. Nice work!

That's great, I'm glad you liked the style and layout so much.

Hey, I enjoyed the game. It was short and sweet.
The rift mechanic was well done with the black and white theme to reflect old (at least that's what I interpreted).
The only thing that confused me was the hammers at first, because I could walk into the hammers and they were swinging but I was blocked by a cube (I assume collision mesh) which took me a second to realise what was going on. I'd suggest making the player be forced off the edge which I dont tihnk happens when the player is running forward in that particular state. (I hope that makes sense?)

Well done!

Developer(+1)

Yeah, getting the impact to work correctly ended up being more challenging than I expected. The collision mesh is a temporary fix, but I'll definitely patch that out later. I'm glad you enjoyed it though, thanks

I can respect that decision, since it doesn't change the premise of the game. (I should note it didn't detract from the game at all)

Another idea you could do, or at least could improve it until the hammer swing impacts are figured out: Have the collision box reach before the first hammer swing so the players can't walk passed the hammers, and then have an overlap trigger *slightly* before the collision box that gives the caption "Those are going far too fast to attempt to walk through!". :)

Developer

I appreciate the suggestion. I don' t particularly want to have a message printed directly to the player to that effect. Wherever possible I like to have the mechanics explain themselves, but that definitely needs some fine tuning.

Hey, I must have missed something. Once through the time rift, I couldn't figure out what needed to be done to unlock doors and how to get across that bridge to the door.

I also didn't find the camera angle and the whole camera moved very appealing. It kept closing in on the character, I actually felt a bit dizzy at some point.

Overall though I think the theme with two time periods is very cool. Please give me a hint so I can solve the puzzle!

Developer

Thanks for the feedback. I think I'll need to give more thought to camera movement and be more cautious with using tight corridors like that. As for hints, I'd just say to keep an eye out for keys and if you can't find something in one time period, see if it's there in the other. Hope you find what you need

Hi :) your game looks gorgeous and it was a nice short puzzle with fun mechanics. With some story and more levels, you are well on your way to a great game!

Cheers!

Developer

Thanks so much, I'd like to keep expanding it so I appreciate your feedback.

This was really nice, it was rewarding to solve. Definitely a good mechanic to use for an RPG.

Developer

I'm glad it felt rewarding, I feel like the mechanics open up a lot of interesting puzzle ideas.
